On a recent drive to find historic covered bridges we rounded a bend in the rural road and found this alpaca farm. At first when we pulled into the driveway they seemed a little anxious and kept moving along this fence line so I got out of the Jeep and snapped this shot quickly.
Ebony and Ivory munched on the tall grass in beautiful surroundings.
Ebony wanted a little camera time.
It was Ivory that hogged all the limelight - such a poser!
Wow... these are beautiful shots. I've never seen an alpaca before. Isn't that odd? You reach 61 and you figure you've probably seen most things. Did you name them yourself? Good names. Fun post.

ReplyDeleteIs she SHAVED? Or is that the difference between an Alpaca and a Llama??? I never even heard of an alpaca! Looks like a llama to me! We have a couple of llamas down the road from me -- but I've never seen 'em shaved! LOL! You find the neatest stuff on your travels!

ReplyDeleteOkay now the top and bottom image leave something to the imagination. Ivory was definitely a camera hog though.

Alpaca farming. I've heard it is a profitable business. Probably like Chinchilla farming. I crossed a gorilla with a chinchilla to create a larger pelt, but the coat sleeves were too long for most women. :) Pappy

ReplyDeleteI happened by an alpaca farm myself this past week...that had a black and white one together too. Only difference is that the ones I saw had just been sheered - entirely. Nice shots. I never got any good ones.
