Ruby Tuesday : Ode To The Tomato

It's Ruby Tuesday! Time to post photos with a little red or a lot of red as suggested by our host Mary/The Teach. Please be sure to click on the icon at the beginning of my post to check out all the nice folks participating today or to check out the rules, post your own red photo and join in the fun!

My entry today is a luscious red tomato. This one was straight from my garden and was delicious as part of some tomato sandwiches. In my book tomato sandwiches are one of the delicacies of summer. In the winter when there is nothing but those really hard tasteless varieties in the supermarket I dream of the taste I'm missing.
This year we had an abundance of tomatoes that couldn't be eaten right away by two people so I elected to can a few quarts for sauces and soups during the upcoming winter. The green beans you see are the second picking out of the garden. So far our little garden has yielded twenty-eight quarts of green beans and there are still fresh green beans and tomatoes for the taking.
Happy Tuesday Everyone!
