Project 64: Out of the Box - Lavender

This week's color out of the 64 box of crayons is lavender. The Crayola crayon color is not the color most of us think of as lavender. I think of light purple. Taking the crayon from the box and coloring on a piece of paper you find it is more a pinkish purple. Above is my entry for this week. It is a compote dish of reproduction carnival glass that my mother-in-law gave me years ago. I love the iridescent surface shimmer and the rainbow or 'oil-slick' highlights. One of those highlights is a pretty close match for Crayola's lavender.

Hubby brought home flowers from the grocery store this week as he often does and I immediately noticed a lavender stripe or two in a carnation. A few macro shots later really brought out the highlights.

Grab a box of crayons and come color with us here.
