Good Fences

Agriculture fence: used to keep animals in or out of an area.
Gate: a point of entry to a space enclosed by walls or some sort of fence to  prevent or control entry or exit.

Just out of camera angle to the left the fence ends.  The fence on the right side only goes a few feet. As near as I can tell it's there to keep the land from sprawling out.... :)

Nice picture for good fences. Thanks for visiting. The old school house you asked about is actually a Wendy type house but much bigger. It is right next to a church and I am assuming it is used as a place for entertaining the small children of parents who are in the service. Also for bible stories. I looked inside the windows and there are toys and books in there. It is carpeted and looks very comfortable and lastly we pass it when we take this particular route to the Shenandoah's.

Always good to have a fence to keep your land in check. LOL

A work in progress. Must have run out of fence and energy to put it up.

Oh, this is hilarious...I can just see clods of dirt up and running through the gate when it is open!

It looks like they want to keep vehicles out of the property. However , it is a nice gate.

It looks fairly new so maybe it's not finished. And Red might be right about keeping vehicles out, too. Nice gate!

Just saw a similar one yesterday, but it was clearly over a drive with ditches on either side. This one doesn't look so clearly to be a vehicle gate. Nice though!

Oh, and I meant to tell you that the fence in my post is for just the plot. Isn't it grand!

to funny on the sprawling land.. makes me wonder if it used to be fenced in or if they are starting with a gate and adding to it. great shot

Nice gate. I'm loving what you said about it and also what Theresa said (the elastic waistband comment) too funny.

Ha ha. I've heard of containing urban sprawl, but this is the first time I heard of containing the rural type ;>)

Pretty scene. I like those big farm gates.

I've seen these too - always strikes me as someone starting out with big plans, plans that only make it a few hundred feet.

hmmmm that is funny. maybe they didn't have enough money to finish buying the fencing.
