A Rose Bouquet

The last few months I have cut my blogging back to a couple of days a week with mainly birds and fence memes. They both represent subjects that are of special interest to me and have kept me at least somewhat in the blogging world these last few months since my husband's heart surgery back in June. Let's face it; winter has been rough for many of us, especially this week, and getting out in the cold and snow just isn't something I venture to do anymore at my age. Yep, getting a little bit wimpy in the autumn of my life. Hubby has been doing well for quite some time and I've been trying to get myself into posting more frequently but it just hasn't happened. I look forward to spring when I can get out and discover new things to photograph and share.

Today I have decided to share something lovely with you that recently brightened my day. Above is the bouquet of roses my sweet daughter Cindy sent for my birthday last week. They were designated as from my granddaughters Lily and Lucy. This 'Grammy' was delighted with the old-fashioned look of the different colored roses and the vase with hearts and ribbons.

This lovely red leather bracelet was from my daughter. It has charms that represent me - the heart and amethyst charms all for my Valentine Day birthday. The butterfly has a special meaning as well. I LOVE it!

To all of you in the path of this latest storm stay safe and warm.

I too only find time to post twice a week. There are so many other things to do in my life or is it that it takes so much longer to do one thing as we get older. Sorry to hear you feel a bit low but that winter you guys are having over there is enough to make anyone feel low. I hope it is all over for you soon. We have just had a cyclone wham into our coastline. Luckily for us it weakened by the time it hit Brisbane but the northern towns have been ripped to pieces.

The bracelet looks very special and the roses are beautiful.

Glad to hear your husband is getting much better. I know how hard it is to have a recuperating husband as mine had a stroke last March...and is still recovering.

Hope you start posting more soon!

Oh happy happy belated BDAY. What lovely gifts, perfect for you.

I average three posts a week now I think. More than that I can't keep up with visits back and that sharing and learning is one of the funnest parts of blogging for me.

Stay warm and cozy ...surely spring will soon arrive.

I am very happy to hear your hubby is on the mend Carletta. How stressful and scary it must have been for you all.

Sweet gifts from your daughter and granddaughter, and I can't tell you enough how happy I am that you have linked these with Today's Flowers. Thank you for being so thoughtful in sharing them. I really appreciate it.

Well, we have snow falling as I type. More than the usual dusting and it is going to snow all day. It will be interesting to see how much will be on the ground by the end of it all. We went to the supermarket yesterday and I made a big bowl of minestrone. Nice to have some comfort food on a cold and snowy day.

Have a great weekend and I send you, your hubby and family my good wishes for excellent health from here on in.

These are really sweet, Carletta. What a wonderful daybrightner those flowers are...as well as the bracelet.

As for blogging, it seems all or nothing to me. sometimes I think about quitting totally...but then I would miss everyone.
