A couple of weeks ago on the morning Hubs and I were leaving to visit our daughter this turkey hen was outside the sunroom window a little drenched from the rain.
She had found the bird feeder and was eating the seed on the ground. If you notice the bird feeder is awfully low and she learned quickly that if she plucked her beak on that little shelf the corn would fall to the ground. Notice how much is under her feet. I need to find a taller pole sooner than later.
This past week old Tom Turkey paid a visit to the field between me and my neighbor.
Usually the male follows the hens but on this day they seemed to be following him.
He looks a little dejected here as he trots off ahead of them.
But wait, he decides he's not giving up just yet!!

Having monster birds like the turkeys in your yard would catch your attention. We don't have them here.

We have lots of them on the property, but I have never seen one up close and personal like these. That last shot is a classic....I think he means business.

Oh my she does look a bit peeved about the rain in that first shot. How fun to have turkeys visit. Loved being able to see Tom strut his stuff.
Yep they'll eat you out of house and home if you don't raise that feeder! But it might almost be worth it -- great pictures .... love the last one ... "come back, look how handsome I am!"
