This was taken just over a week ago when we had snow. The last few days have been seasonable but our forecast is calling for snow again Tuesday night into Wednesday.
WV Water Crisis: For those of you who know I live in West Virginia all is fine here Round The Bend. We are about an hour away from the crisis and are unaffected. Water was beginning to be turned back on yesterday and will continue in sections. What you might not know is that each individual household must flush the pipes in their homes when the water ban is lifted for their area. You have to open your faucets, first hot water, and let flush 15 minutes. After that your hot water tank will be acceptable for use. Then you flush cold faucets for five minutes. Then, outside faucets, etc. You need to think about filters on refrigerators and other appliances. You need to run your dishwasher and washing machine empty for one cycle. The water company will need to watch how all that flushing affects everything before lifing the ban in the next zone. You don't just turn the faucet on and pick up where you left off. The infamous environmental activist Erin Brockovich is in town so I'm sure we'll be in the news for some time to come. :)
I want to send a sincere wish to all of those affected a speedy return to normalcy.
