So are the flowers around the fence the same as the other two photos? I like the quote.

Carletta said...

Yes Red, they are. In fact I went back today to get the last two shots and found the farmer had sprayed the fence line and the ones around the fence are gone. :(

Oh no! I realize that some flowers are noxious weeks, but these were simply beautiful! I am hoping to get back out to photograph a field of brown-eyed susans I saw when we were coming in to the campground today! I missed the sunflowers - they had plowed the ground this week!

Love your yellows and your rusty fence post. We see so many of those around these parts. You asked about the fencing. It goes up to a rounded overlook, but I have never walked up there. I let Buddy do that. I take the picture from down below. genie

great bunch of yellows!

Is that ragweed? Ours doesn't appear to be glooming but it's about six feet high and I go on sneezing jags several times a day! The rusty fence post looks pretty surrounded by the green and gold.

Kathy,
Not ragweed. The yellow around the fence is actually the flowers you see here. I think a variety of Coreopsis.

Colin said...

Carletta and Kathy
I googled this Coreopsis!
It is: "All Coreopsis species were designated the state wildflower of Florida in the United States in 1991.[7]"
Interesting on how big it can also be.
It is a plant found seemingly in just the Americas - North to South America.
Turned out Carletta a most informative post, many thanks.
Anyhow I got my kick out of the "green and gold"! ha ha!
Cheers
