I'm Back!

It's Monday and time for Tricia's Barn Charm. I'll state upfront that this is a drive-by shot that lacks a little quality. The barn sits beside a very busy interstate and there's no other way to get a shot. As you can tell I missed one corner of the barn.  I love the surrounding countryside with the sheep on the far hill and all the fencing this farm has. Do enlarge and notice the wood lathing just under the eave of the barn.

For those who've wondered why I've been missing in blogland I will say it's been an eventful few weeks. The big storm that left us without power the end of June started it all. When July 4th came and it looked like we would keep power we left for Virginia to pick up our Granddaughters who were going to stay with us for a couple of weeks. The morning we were due to leave I woke up with a cold and two days later a terrible case of pinkeye that of course showed up a little in everyone and lasted a week. At the end of that week our phone line went down because of a short. The phone company was still working on storm related outages so it was two weeks before ours was fixed and we again had Internet. The girls are back home now and it's a little lonesome. However, there is the time and means for blogging once again.
A big thank you to all of you who sent emails wondering where I was. Your thoughtfulness overwhelmed me. Big hugs to you all!

Lovely barn, I did enlarge it and the wood on it is superb.
I did wonder where you'd disappeared to, Carletta, but assumed you were on holiday.
Hope you're feeling much better now.

My goodness, you did have a busy 2 weeks. Glad things have slowed a bit, and you're back on track. I do love these old barns, and I always have wanted some of that old weathered wood for my living room. It is so beautiful.
Take care Carletta.

Welcome back Stranger! I had a funny feeling that the storm may have been the major cause. "Pink Eye" - is that conjunctivitis??
I had that for a week, horrible business.
We are having the best August ever, so far. It is cold of a morning but nice and warm during the day and none of those terrible August winds (so far)so it may be a very hot summer!
Certainly well kept fences around this property/farm.
Cheers

Welcome back!
I think this is a wonderful drive-by shot. I hope you have a few nice quiet weeks after all of your 'excitement' in June and July.

Great barn esp. for a drive-by. Lovely setting.
Glad to hear you're better and your internet is back.
We got hit by that storm too and it took awhile for power to be restored.

So sorry to read that you have had such a run of bad luck.

I know how special spending time with the Grandkids can be and I glad you got to have yours for a while.

If it were not for drive by shots I would never have a thing to post so do not let that be a concern. This is a great old barn and I for one am delighted that you shared it.

Oh so glad to see you back -- you had some good reasons for your down time (well, I guess the grandkids were good reasons and everything else was bad reasons really)....I am glad the yukky pinkeye cleared up -- I had that once along with a bad chest cold etc -- it was my month of 'itis"es....
