Fly Me To The Moon

The Monday after Thanksgiving I was at my daughter's home and had taken little Lily and Lucy out shopping. When we returned home this is what we saw in the sky. The contrails seemed to start at a point on the horizon and fan out. It was the same in two directions. The sunset was reflected in their vapor trails. It was quite a sight to see. As she lives near the Norfolk Naval Base it wouldn't surprise me that these were left by jets doing military maneuvers. As I finished taking pictures I turned as I walked through the front door for one last look. That was when I saw the moon among the trails. As I looked at these this week on my computer I started humming Frank Sinatra's song - Fly Me To The Moon.
"Fly me to the moon
Let me play among the stars
Let me see what spring is like
On Jupiter and Mars" ...........
Linking to Thursday Theme Song and Skywatch.

I always wonder how they make the colored smoke.

I have got to maker myself call these by their correct name instead of “jet streams.” These are beautiful. I have seen lots of white ones, but these pink ones are really impressive. Lovely captures. genie
