Ruby Red Azalea Buds

From this....

to this!

I took these a couple of weeks ago when my azaleas were beginning to bloom. It is a very small bush that the deer like to browse on during the winter so I never get many blooms and the plant suffers and never gets to grow properly. I enjoy the deer and have come to accept the fact my plants probably won't ever be full and lush. However, this ruby survivor is certainly a beauty to admire.

Oh, I love the before and after blooms. The deer seem to leave my azaleas alone, but they eat my pea plants.

Not only are the buds and blossom beautiful, your pictures are wonderful. I love the color of this azalea. Hopefully the deer will continue to leave you enough flowers to enjoy.

Azaleas are so gorgeous this time of year, Carletta. I especially love that red color you have shown. Ours are PINK---pretty but I love seeing the red ones.
Hugs,
Betsy

It is lovely! You have a better attitude than I do about deer eating flowers!

The bush may not be the fullest but the individual bud and flower are perfection! And the deer are such a wonderful bonus.

The flowers of Spring are all eagerly awaited. The transformation from bud to bloom is to savor. I like all the colors found on azaleas, but this ruby is bold ans stylish. Nicely captured!

I'm planning my patio garden in my backyard right now...I may have to consider some azaleas! Yours are gorgeous...too bad about the deer eating them, but at least it's a wildlife photo op, right?

Hope you're doing well!

Stunning!!! I remember the very first time I saw azaleas ....on vacation when I was a little girl...the whole park was filled with them and I wanted to have my parents plant bunches of them in our yard. Well, of course they don't do worth diddly squat in Colorado's cold climes. But I still love 'em.

An invitation for you to come visit my Ruby Tuesday A Red Sea Bean

Have a wonderful day.
