Weekend Reflections

Wednesday Hubs and I were driving to town to pick up a few groceries and some potting soil. I had my camera with me and remembered a shot I had been wanting to try and get. I kept telling Hubs 'down here where the water is on the road.' He dutifully slowed down where he thought I meant the creekside but I said keep going. There is a turn in the road where a barrier wall and huge flower pots separate the highway and the parking lot from a business. During rainy times water stands consistently in the road. I had often noticed the neat reflection but felt it would be impossible to get as there is no place to stop as the reflection is literally at the edge of the road. I was in the passenger seat camera in hand and Hubs drove as slowly as possible trying not to hold up traffic and I clicked three quick shots. In this shot you can see part of the barrier wall, the pots, part of the rearview mirror that got in my way and to my surprise the clouds in the sky.
Actually, I was quite surprised how well this last one came out. Skill, hardly, but not bad for a drive by.

These really are terrific, Carletta, and particularly for a drive by -- never know about those "drive by shootings"!! Hope you have a great weekend. Oh, I posted a pic of Susan, Thom and I a couple of days ago, we did have such a fun visit and I think you can tell that from the smiles!!

My dear sweet Carletta what an eye you have got. These are just fantastic captures. That was so nice of your husband to slow down for you to get these. Well done. I need to carry my camera with me everywhere as well. I see so many and miss them because I don't. Case in point. Sunday I was downtown at the Fish Auction we have here and one of the fishing boats was named The Carleta. Yes it only had one t but I thought of you immediately :) She was a real beauty :)

A good photographer always has their eye out for opportunities! These are great reflections and came out well shot from a moving vehicle! (I'm the queen of shooting from a moving vehicle! LOL!)

Those are fun shots to capture and you did a mighty fine job on the fly like that. The second one is my favorite...nice, Carletta!

Very nice. I've heard about those "drive by shootings." Yes, that actually turned out to be a very nice capture. Remarkably clear for being on the move.

the pots look great in all that blue!

I have been doing the same thing, going to where I know puddles collect to check for a good shot :)
