Feathered Friends in Ruby Attire

Ruby Tuesday seems the perfect time to begin a little blogging again. For those of you waiting for a new Lily and Lucy pic I promise it's coming soon. If you're wondering where I've been I unfortunately got sick during my visit and had to prolong my trip back home. I'm still not quite myself but I feel much better than I have in a couple of weeks.
On to the rubies above. I took this a couple of days before I left. This was taken through my sunroom window as I watched all the varieties of birds that showed up that day. I was excited to see the cardinal couple be joined by the red-bellied woodpecker. Their bright reds make lovely rubies don't you think?
An added bonus the same day was the cardinal being joined by the red-winged blackbird. Just a moment before the cardinal was perched calmly on the edge of the feeder when the red wing landed on the other side causing the cardinal to lose balance as the feeder swayed. I had been clicking continously and by luck caught the flurry of wings and tail feathers.

Wishing you all a Ruby day!

Your cardinal seems to get along with so many other birds. Mine seem to take off - a tad shy, I'm afraid.

These are lovely shots, Carletta. I particularly love the second one, the movement in it is so well captured.

Such bird combinations, lovely for rubies.

Had wondered where you were, although I still don't blog like I used to.

I hope you continue to get better! Scenes like these can be quite therapeutic, the beautiful rubies are landing where you can capture the events of their lives as they occur. The cardinal must really feel that he will fall off the feeder - forgetting that he can actually fly. Beautiful captures!

I have been checking every day or two to see if you were back...sorry you have been sick. I hope you get over your illness soon...you hit the nail on the head about looking for pics of Lily and Lucy. I kept expecting to see their bright little faces here.

I love that you captured a cardinal and a red-winged blackbird at the same feeder.

Welcome back, Carletta. I too am very sorry that you got sick while on holiday with the grandkids. I will wait for the pictures.
I like your cardinals and the woodpecker. My bet is that they don't become very good friends.
Happy RT! You can drop in for family pictures on mine.
