Yard Art Thursday

My first entry for Mary's Yard Art Thursday is this huge cactus. Hubs and I have passed this yard a few times in the past couple of years and it always struck me as a funny piece of yard art. It wasn't until Mary mentioned a new meme that I decided it was time to take a photo when we passed it on Monday. It is along a main road with no place to pull off so I took this through the windshield. The cactus itself is made of concrete and surrounded by a landscaped flowerbed made of stone. Even without enlarging the photo you can probably see it is outlined with large Christmas bulbs. We have never been past it in the dark but I imagine it is something to see.
Should you happen to go ahead and enlarge the photo you can see that on one side it is bordered with a chainlink fence that surrounds a cemetery.

That's a funny "sculpture" Carletta! And just the idea for this meme makes me laugh, because it's actually a garden meme I could post to. (As an RVer, I don't garden -- I just walk around smiling at other people's work and now I'll watch for garden sculptures too!)

Why do I think that is so odd in your neck of the woods. LOL I mean it's clever but I would never think of a cactus back there LOL Love it :)

Now that's a ginormous cactus Carletta. ;-)

I'd like to see it at night with all those bulbs outlining it.

See? Now you're taking photos through the windshield too. I do it all the time.

Carletta, what a piece of Yard Art! When I was in Arizona years back at christmas time it wasn't unusual to see cacti with lights all litup! Ha! Thanks for participating! :)

This certainly qualifies as one of the most unusual pieces of yard art that I've ever seen.

Yup ... that's certainly a unique piece of yard art ... especially where you live. How fascinating to see the string of lights around this cactus. Excellent find for Yard Art!

I somehow missed this...while I don't like the looks of it now...I bet if I saw it at night I would fall in love with it.
