A Winter Scene in Sepia

We had snow again Monday night and Tuesday. A larger storm is on the way for the weekend and more snow is forecast. Unlike many of you I love the snow. Bread, milk, and eggs are in the fridge and the pantry and freezer are stocked. Light the fireplace!

This photo was taken turning into my driveway. It was snowing and very overcast. The original photo was almost monochrome and very washed out. I sharpened the original just a bit and converted it to sepia. Hope you enjoy.

The effects are beautiful Carletta. I am a little jealous of all your snow, we have had unseasonably warm temperatures and mostly rain. I am still wishing for more snow before winter is over.

So beautiful and peaceful. I love the silence that falling snow offers.
The sepia tone really adds to the peaceful feeling.

Looking good Carletta. Such a lovely visit right outside your door.

Winter has moved away from the heavy rain of January and returned to the dangers of fog. No worries though. The rain will return. **sigh**

Wonderful sepia shot. Looks very old indeed.

The sepia makes this look like it was taken by one of your ancestors.

I guess you live in the country, Carletta. What a pretty setting!

The falling snow is nice as long as you have the necessities, and I see you do. And as long as you don't have to go anywhere..

I am green with envy here- enjoy the snow, I wish I was there!

The WV hills are beautiful, snow or not. The snow is pue in white, but it feels warmer in sepia. I only wish that the snow would fall on the grassy surfaces only...

It looks very authentic to an old time sepia photo & looks great, like a sepia winter wonderland!

What I like about these photos when you do this is they look old fashion. When times were supposedly easier and less confusing. It is just beautiful. You know I think, thanks to you, my camera can do sepia in the picture itself. WOOT!! I'm learning slowly but surely. Yes I know that Picasa and such you need to use to sharpen them or edit them, but that's a whole 'nother ball game. LOL :) Have a great day :)

That's very pretty, Carletta.
Yes, I like snow too, when it's at your place or in Colorado.

Happy late RT! I think this is your granddaughter, she's a doll!

Thanks for peeking in on me. I've been hectic and very busy since. But I did post a couple even if I was busy. :)

That is very beautiful! I always have mixed feelings about snow. I think it's beautiful BUT I hate the mess it makes after it starts melting.

Yes, I got a new camera...a Canon 7D. :) Another toy! :)

This makes it look like an old-fashioned winter scene. Just lovely. Nice to look at - from inside a warm house, snuggling up near a roaring fire!

Hi Carletta, I'm visiting you from Kerri's Blog. It looks as though you have plenty of snow there in VA, and I hear there is more on the way. Stay warm.
