Stars shining bright above you
Night breezes seem to whisper, I love you
Birds singing in the sycamore tree
Birds singing in the sycamore tree
Dream a little dream of me.
Say nighty-night and kiss me
Just hold me tight and tell me you'll miss me.
While I'm alone and blue as can be
Dream a little dream of me.
~Gus Kahn
Did you know "Dream a Little Dream of Me" was first recorded by Ozzie Nelson and his Orchestra with vocal by Nelson on February 16, 1931?

Is that leaves on water?? Whatever it is, it is wonderful.
That is a lovely picture! Leaves for real and in reflection. Beautiful!
I didn't know that was ever a Nelson song, but I like the way The Mamas and the Papas did it. I think it is their recording that I started hearing as I read the words, any way!
nice look back--at the fall and the song :)
Lovely picture and nice connection with the song -- very fun post.
Ozzie Nelson as in Ozzie and Harriet and David and (sob) Ricky? I guess I do sort of remember that he was a bandleader in real-life.
Off to Google ;>)
So dreamy.
Beautiful!
Very poetic and I love the reflections!
A great composition in this reflection shot!
Hmmm, I know this song and I am humming it right now.
I didn't know that. I only knew the Mama's and the Papa's. But it sure does go with that beautiful picture :) You are a dream with these photos you do my friend :)
A beautiful song and a lovely photo--perfect combination.
Beautiful reflection in the watery, and lovely post!
Watery Wednesday
I do like that song and your sycamore leaves.
I love the reflection of the leaves! And I had no idea the song was that old!
No! I did not know that. I had forgotten that Ricky wasn't the first star in his family. LOL
Very nice Carletta!!! ... as usual.
Golden oldie. Hadn't thought about that song in a long time. Brings back memories. Ozzie Nelson! I had a crush on the Nelson boys for a while when I was young.
There is a song in my head now!
I have Mama Cass singing that on my little shuffle ipod. It's one of my favorites. Didn't know about Ozzie Nelson's version.
golden oldies for shur :o)
Carletta: Very nicely posted with the song.
I did know that Ozzie Nelson first recorded this song. I really like your photo in this post.
I love leaf and water shots. Very pretty.
Lovely shots Carletta, of leaves and reflections. And lovely words to go with the pictures.
What a gorgeous picture Carletta, and I LOVE that song!
B.
Beautiful reflection, Carlotta! I love the lacy look of the leaves in the water!
I love the song and the photo! I had no idea Ozzie Nelson was the first to record it.
