Ruby Tuesday and Catching Up

My lovely daughter-in-law came Christmas day in her own Ruby slippers! Aren't they just gorgeous!!!!!
Hi everyone. Goodness sakes here it is January the 4th already and the days since Christmas and my last post are still somewhat of a blur. Our kids and grandkids were here for Christmas and then we followed them back to Virginia on their return home. My son and his wife left for a vacation in Cancun and we helped our daughter Cindy celebrate her 28th birthday on the 28th. On that day Hubs and I also celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary. We met in college on a blind date and have been together ever since. Then on the 29th we celebrated little Lily's 2nd birthday. It seems like yesterday that she first entered our world.
We have arrived back home and our Christmas tree still needs taken down and there's a couple inches of snow and it's still snowing outside.
Christmas has come and gone but since I haven't been able to share pics from the day I hope you'll understand as I share these rubies with you.
This is little Miss Lucy on her first Christmas! I think she is just the cutest!!! She is sitting in what was my little red chair my grandfather gave me when I was a little girl.
A face to fall in love with!
The pillow in the big rocker was soft and furry to feel and very Ruby!
Lily really did not want to sit still so this was a quick shot with the chair.
Another quick shot when Lily was at least near Lucy!
When the dresses were off and the Elmo PJ's on Lily much preferred Mommy tickling her with furry red Elmo hands!

Ruby or not, they are precious gems!

Truer Christmas rubies than this pair are hard to find - yet you captured them beautifully! I especially like the two of them together, the younger Lucy to look up to and follow in the knowledge of the more experienced Lily. They are precious, Christmas and our little ones are what make the season so special. A happy grandma you are, and the children are a wonderful gift to you!

Happy Belated Anniversary, Carletta! Wishing you and your husband even more joyful moments together. I really love stories like this. It gave me some goosebumps in a good way :).

Wishing you and your family all the best for 2010! I may not be a lot around, but I carry you in my heart. You are one of the wonderful persons I met this year in the Blogosphere.

Lily and Lucy are the best grandchildren one could wish for. Cute as cute can be.
I can see you had a wonderful Christmas celebration together.
I love family gatherings.
They bring forth such wonderful memories from early childhood to this day. The little red chair is priceless. To have handicraft passed on through generations; that is like pure magic. I think your furniture is looking more scandinavian that in most American pictures I have seen. The little red chair is what we would call a Jar stool, and then you have a blond rocker. Nice. I like that.

Oh! When I first saw those red shoes I thought they were on Lily's feet! But they ARE darling - even for an adult! Those grandbabies of yours just get cuter by the day! And I absolutely LOVE Lucy's little dress! Just darling! Thank GOD for point n shoot with toddlers - huh? How did we EVER get a decent shot of our own kids??? LOL!

Lucy is such a cute little girl, and Lily too of course. I had to laugh when I saw the little red chair, my son had a similar one when he was little. I still have it in the basement !

Your granddaughters are so sweet, Carletta. They certainly look like sisters. Beautiful rubies both.

I'm guessing Lily has a mind of her own. ;-) She looks spunky. And I don't mean that in a bad way.

Plus, she shares her birthday with both me and Allegra!

Happy 35th Anniversary to you and your hubby. A Christmas wedding? That must have been a hectic time. And then you had your daughter on your anniversary, like I had my daughter on my birthday.

Good to have you back and blogging.

Belated Happy Anniversary! 35 years! Awesome. Your granddaughters are just magnificent. Nice Christmas tree too. I had a fairly bleak holiday. Couldn't even find the fake tree that lights up so I stuck the old broken one on a table and felt sorry for myself... and then listened to lots of beautiful music and felt better. Happy everything to you and your daughter and grand daughter and you and your husband.
