Dona Nobis Pacem:Grant Us Peace

November 5, 2009
Bloggers from all across the globe will blog for peace.
We will speak with one voice.
One subject.
One day.

I hope you will listen to the music and think about the words.
"Let there be peace on earth
And let it begin with me
Let there be peace on earth
The peace that was meant to be.
With God as our father
Brothers all are we
Let me walk with my brother
In perfect harmony.
Let peace begin with me
Let this be the moment now.
With every step I take
Let this be my solemn vow.
To take each moment
And live each moment
With peace eternally.
Let there be peace on earth,
And let it begin with me."

I love this song. And the only way there ever will be peace on earth is with God as our father.

Oh! The song switches to something else in the middle! Did you know?

YES QUILLY, IT CUTS OFF THE LAST VERSE - SOMETHING BEYOND MY CONTROL. HOWEVER, THE NEXT SONG IS HYMN OF HOPE AND EQUALLY AS APPROPRIATE.
SORRY EVERYONE BUT I THINK AND HOPE THE MESSAGE I WANTED TO GIVE STILL COMES ACROSS.

Dona Nobis Pacem. Beautiful grandchildren, Carletta! I think it is one of the greatest reasons why peace should be spread all over the world. I love the lyrics of this song. I so agree to Gattina's comment. Have a peaceful week, my dear friend :)

Just perfect ;-)
This song is one of my all time favorites and it's message is 'right on' in my thinking. Peace begins within and extends itself as we interact lovingly with others! Thanks so much for visiting all 4 of my Peace Posts and here's wishing YOU and yours peace in each moment.
Hugs and blessings,
Happily Retired Gal

It's taken me a long time to make my way back round the bend... and such beautiful faces and words were here waiting.

May His Peace be with you, and those you love... indeed, may it be with us all.

I love this song. Lovely post. Your grandbabies are beautiful and deserve - as do we all - a world full of love and peace where we all work for the happiness of all. May it come to pass in their life times.

Yes, the very best reasons of all.

Let it begin with all of us, and let it be today.

Your peace globe is precious! Those are the sweetest faces - yes, for them. Peace for them.

Peace for the children of the world would be a wonderful thing. That is what the children's ministries I participate in are all about.

I love the song and was singing along when the tune suddenly changed. It startled me. Your message does still come across loud and clear. I am sorry if my comment was inappropriate.

That is my favorite song - St. Francis's prayer for Peace put to music! Thanks for commenting at my peace post! Yes, For Lily and Lucy and everyone! :)

Ya know Carletta, That's not St. Francis's Prayer... but it's a lovely song even so.

What a beautiful post. The music and the words speak so much of what we need (especially as I write this after hearing about what happened at Fort Hood). Thank you.

For the children...if we teach them well and show them the example, they will carry us to peace.

Peace to you and yours.

Yes, a peaceful world is what we seek. The beautiful children do not have hate from within, it becomes a learned feeling. We try to instill a more peaceful behavior in our progeny, but so many parents do not. We as parents (and you as a grandparent to the lovely Lilly and Lucy) try to instill a peaceful outlook to them. The world can change one heart at a time, and we continue to try,,,

What a beautiful post. Like my mother used to always say, "Why can't we all just get along?"
