Ruby Tuesday: House With Red Shutters

Isn't she beautiful! This house sits on a fairly busy street across from the local city park. I remember the house from my childhood days. We would often visit my Aunt who used to live around the corner and down the block from this old treasure. It hasn't always had decorative red accents and has been remodeled somewhat since those days. The fountain to the left was added a few years ago.

Most times I 'go into town' as I did today I pass by and think how elegent it looks sitting in the middle of the city. I look at the wrap-around porch and imagine pitchers of lemonade sitting on the tables and friends sitting in the wicker chairs enjoying each other's company just passing time. Sitting in one of the rockers with a good book or just with eyes closed listening to the water fall in the fountain would also be a pleasurable existence for an hour or so. And what about those turrets - I wonder what's behind the windows in those spaces. It's fun to daydream anyway!

It reminds me of something out of a fairy tale for some reason. I'd love to own that. It looks awesome and just cozy. Wonderful my friend. Happy RT to you :) Aloha

It looks well-kept. Yesterday we drove by a big old house in disrepair, and it was depressing.

I love the porch. They don't build homes with porches anymore; sad to me. (We have a porch!)

Looks like the people who live there love it enough to take excellent care of it. Perfect of RT!

This is a well kept beauty.
Perfectly symmetric and romance spelled all over the property.
I feel certain the owners must be well worth knowing as well.

This is a true My home is my castle design. I guess a girl was able to fulfill her dream by making the architect to include those pretty towers in the design!

This house is absolutely beautiful and well-maintained. I must admit that I like the red shutters and trim. Would you mind if I joined you on the porch with a good book?

It truly is majestic. There are a few houses like this where I grew up as well and I used to ride my bike by them and dream about what it was like inside.

Thank you for stopping by my RT post! :)

Such a gem, the Victorian touches looking great with the decorative accents. I don't know about the turrets either, but these castle-like additions add a medieval heft to a beautifully styled and restored home...

Oh what a lovely Victorian House. We stayed at a bed and breakfast that was a Victorian Home. It was very nice. I wonder if your photo was a Bed and Breakfast. Nice music on your site. I usually do not like music on sites.

Carletta, tht is a beautiful house. I used to drive by a nice looking Victorian home for years. I have a picture somewhere. Almost 10 years later, I was dating this guy and he decided to take me to meet the parents. Ironically, it happened to be that same exact house. And the mini-van in my picture was the one he was currently borrowing from his dad. It was quite a treat for me to be able to see the inside of the house I had admired from afar for so long. It's a small world after all! :)
Wishing you a scent-sational Tuesday!

Facinating house! I am so glad that someone loves it enough to keep it in good repair! I have tried imagining it with shutters of another colour (dark green, actually) but I simply cannot!

I love your Ruby Tuesday's! It's always interesting to see what you come up with. This house is beautiful. I love the red accents. I picture the turret to open up to a room full of books, a braided rug on a hardwood floor, and comfortable chairs all around.
