Hi, my name is Carletta and I'm a blogoholic! I readily admit that to my family and friends. It's a wonderful and creative process that I enjoy very much. However, I do have other interests and hobbies and I thought I'd share one with you today. The image above is of a white Rose of Sharon bloom. It isn't particularly a good image so I thought I'd see what I could do with it.
Using my software I sharpened the image just a little bit to make the flower stand out a little more and then I changed the color image to sepia. I then added some text. It's a quote by Lady Bird Johnson. When I was finished I printed out a four by six inch photograph.
I used cardstock and scrapbook paper to make a greeting card and added the photo to the top. I added a small copper resin piece that had the word hope on it to embellish the end of the quote. There you have it - a greeting card!

Beautiful. Someone special will certainly enjoy it.
Boy I'd be proud to send that to anyone. Excellent :$
I used to be a blogaholic too but I joined blogaholic's anonymous. lol
I like what you did with the flower. My favorite is the sepia.
I like Dot had to join blogaholic's anonymous. Somedays I falled backwards. But everyday is a new day.
The greeting card is very nice.

That is a fantastic image you captured. I would love to send that to my friends too. Great job.
The middle sepia is great - the background is a dark monochrome, the flower illumined as if were a night light, guiding us through the woods. Nice!
That's very nice & so creative. I love the copper 'HOPE' piece - a very nice touch!
Love your work, Carletta
How pretty and it looks wonderful as a card.
Ingenious! I love it. I need to try to do more things like that. Good for you :)
Hi, Carletta,
I,m Felisol,
I blog too little for my own good.
I like the endorphin shock every time I find a picture, a phrase, some kind words echoing mine.
The transparent flower standing out against a windy background, so beautiful.
The encouraging greeting from Lady Bird, I've taken them to my heart,
and will plant another flower today!
Somehow I feel I got this card too.
From Felisol
that's a lovely card
You and my sister, Caryl, would get on famously. Once each month she hosts a card making workshop where she teaches others skills similar to there -- but nobody can teach vision, which you obviously have in abundance.
Beautifully done!
I love how you transferred this.
(I don't have enough brains today to express what I want to say, dooh).
But I do like what you did with the pic :)!!
Great greeting card! How wonderfull you have changed a common picture in such a beautiful card.
So fun to get a creative greating card like that.
That's beautiful Carletta!
HI Carletta,
That's a beautiful card and a great quote. I like the soft old-fashioned feel the sepia gives to this, plus the matt embellishments you used.
Beautiful! Utterly. Just goes to show, there's nothing WRONG with bein' a blogaholic!
A lovely handmade card that's looking lovely in sepia :)
That made a real nice card! I never got into scrapbooking...simply because I know I don't need another hobby. But I think I would have enjoyed it.
Wonderful card! Very talented to come up with that combination.
That's a beautiful greeting card!
I disagree with your comment that the first image isn't very good. It looks like a watercolor painting. I love the blush of pink from the sun on the petals. Those qualities and your sepia toning made it perfect for a greeting card - which is beautiful!
Wow! That's just lovely! You have a second career there!
Carletta, Raven is cetainly right, absolutely gorgeous!! Do you want to send me one? If you do let me know by e-mail and I'll send my house address! :)
You did a wonderful job on this, Carletta!
