Ruby Tuesday and Photographic Reflections

These images are part of a beach scene on a wall mural at Granddaughter Lily's doctor's office. I loved the face on this little red crab. He sure looks like he's smiling!
Ruby Tuesday is hosted by Mary/The Teach at Work Of The Poet. Be sure to click on the icon at the beginning of my post to check out all those posting red photos today.

Photographic Reflections
This window and balcony are part of a pre-Civil War plantation house here in Parkersburg. It was built in 1836 and always occupied by the same family. Not only is the mansion intact, the contents of the home are all there too. Everything has been saved, from letters, shopping lists, and business accounts to furniture, wallpaper, antique light bulbs, clothing, and shoes. More than 200 years of family papers were collected and have been saved.
Curtains made in the mid-1800s by the ladies of the house still hang in some of the windows. Henderson Hall as the house is called is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
I love how the old glass in the windows make the reflections look like they are underwater.

Our host for Photographic Reflections is Quilly at her Pacific Paradise. Be sure to check out her link for others participating in the challenge. I'm sure she would love it if you would like to join in; but hurry it only lasts a week!

I love your Ruby Tuesday crabs.

That reflections photo (which also has red) is lovely. Sounds like a wonderful place to visit.

By the way - thanks for putting in the effort to watch all those videos. I know I kind of overdid it. I appreciate anyone noble enough to actually watch them.

Arn't crabs red after you cook them? One of my favorite foods, but you guy looks a little giggly to me. Have you ever looked out of windows like these? Our house in OK has some like that . Made me dizzy, like one to many bruskies.

I see we both like brick as subject matter. Very nice choice for Ruby Tuesday.

I absolutely adore your little crab dude! (and I expected to hear Under The Sea when I saw him!)

The window is beautiful too though - and the appropriate song! I love the history that goes with it!

Both of these photos are great. I agree about the crabs, and the reflections are perfect.

Thank you for your comment on my RT, but, no, those are just red books on my shelves.

What an amazing way how to decorate a waiting room for children. Love the crab :o)

The plantation red brick is a richer more elegant red than on most buildings. The arched windows and the nicely detailed balcony really add style to this plantation house.

The crab is cute too!

Such a delightful little crab and fun mural for the children. The historic house is very elegant looking - beautiful red brick, and I like the design of the windows. Wonderful post for both memes!

What a fantastic post!! I also like the face of the crab, haha. I love the photo and story of the mansion. It's so unusual and so wonderful that the same family is still living in the home so many years/generations later, and that they've saved all the paperwork, and kept it all 'original' rather than remodeling it to todays standards of glass and such. How I would love to go see it in person. Oh, and by the way, the red bricks work with Ruby Tuesday too.
