Project Black: Take Ten

Project Black Meets Camera Critters

Heidi

This is my cat Heidi. I have posted her photo once before for Camera Critters. (here) Because of her ebony color I just had to post another photo to include in those for Project Black. It is fairly dark in the living room at night except for a small reading lamp. You can see here that her pupils are really big and black to compensate for the lack of light.

Our hostess for Project Black said no black and white images and to find black in color. She even said please. Well, I love this black and white shot of Heidi so I decided I would have to break the rules today. I'm not the first to break it mind you; even Anna broke her own rule early on in the project. With that in mind I'm hoping we're all entitled to at least one black and white image! (insert wink here)

Ah, Carletta, breaking the rules - what would all those mostly dear departed souls I had for teachers think of me! The one who didn't get in trouble. The one who didn't break the rules!
Oh well, what's a little rule breaking among friends....you all have a great day!

Project Black is hosted by
Anna of Anna Carson Photography - go check her site out - she's awesome!

Camera Critters is hosted by Misty of Misty's Musings - check it out - you never know what critters you will find!

I love this. :) We haven't had one for years, but cats have always been my kind of a pet.

She's precious! And it looks so great in b&w!
Indeed, since Anna broke her own rule, we should get at least one freebie! :)

Great job of rule breaking! I was always so well behaved too for most of my life and now I'm finally learning that rules need to be broken from time to time. They're just guidelines really. Heidi is beautiful. I think gray and black cats somehow are flattered by black and white. I always think Tara Grace (who is gray) shows up better when color isn't in the mix competing with her. And I think (why am I writing so much) that this is very border-line rule breaking since you have posted a black and white photo of a BLACK cat... not an orange one pretending to be black. So that's my speech. Congratulations on honing your rule breaking skills. Keep up the good work.

Beautiful image. And this just works in B&W so don't worry one little bit. Like you said, even Anna broke her own rule! I don't think you'll get in any serious trouble and I doubt anyone will think less of you for having done broken the rule.

Break the rules? You have to stay in at recess. :) I like cats....outside that is. The reason I never have like cats inside is they're always on top of everything. I don't know if they can be broken of that or not. How can you look at that face in your picture and not like cats a little at least.

That is just a sweeeeeet peaceful shot! I love it! And you are completely forgiven for breaking the rules!

There is just something about walking into a home or business that has a cat laying about--I for sure will come nearer buying something. (Right now I have 4 cats;)

Carletta, everybody is allowed to break the rules once in a while! I never learned that in Catholic School though! :)

Sometimes rules are made to be broken. Great shot of Heidi and perfect for project black.

Are you still in time out? Have you learned your lesson? LOL

You were "emphasizing the color black" which should not count as a rule breaker. I read a rule somewhere that cats are always to be shot in B&W.

Great shot of your precious one!

But Carletta, you have to know that the best teachers are the ones who did get in trouble and who did break the rules, because they know just how the kids feel and think.

I love this photo and want to pick kitty up for a cuddle. (I do understand that kitty may not be as thrilled by that thought.)

Heidi is such a nice name for a pretty cat. Beautiful black and white photo of her!! Also enjoyed the song. Keep on breaking those rules, Carletta, as long as it doesn't land you in jail (hee, hee).

I love multi-tasking myself … and blending Project Black with Camera Critters using Heidi works beautifully. I’ve noticed others participating in Project Black but have decided I can’t take on anything new currently because I just need to ‘catch up’ with other things first.

FYI: I’ve got two Camera Critters posts today on two different blogs (and one to be shared tomorrow at Small Reflections) … so if you’ve got time please check them out: CC#15 and CC#16.
Hugs and blessings,
