The road meanders past acres and acres of farmland.
Suddenly I stop to gaze at the straw statues in the open field.
It's as if they are poised, ready to roll about when my eyes aren't looking.
I laugh knowing one roll would have them unfurling like cinnamon rolls.
Chuckling to myself it's time for me to roll on down the road to where the gravel drive points to home and the moon in the sky beckons me welcome as it glows in the clear blue afternoon sky.

The last one for me - the moon can be quite as beautiful by day as by night.

Nice sky watch selection Carletta
Carletta, here you are my friend ... and with so fantastic shots.
Well, I guess the one day I'll get a crash will be when you show a no good phot :)
This week I'm having a long weekend so I won´t be able to visit anybody, therefore I decided to skip SWF.
pretty words describe thoughts i often have myself
Hey... I mean HAY! That's bf's joke. Too funny. Someone please bail me out... bad one...
Beautiful captures of a crisp blue sky. Love the daytime moon capture.
Carletta,
These photos are grand!!
Fields of rolled hay are among my favorite things to look at!
LOL- We seem to like a lot of the same things!

Carletta: Looks like your making hay just like Tom. Very nice SWF.
Incredible blue sky. Beautiful!
Great sky, and a very beautiful landscape. I just loved the first picture so much.
Nice weekend to you, from Anne in the middle of Norway.
Nice photos and lovely imagery in your narrative. Good Sky Watch.
Great stuff. I rally enjoyed it.
Very nice series of photos!
A wonderful blue sky!

The pictures are nice. I like your writing. But I can't help but laugh at the title - Afternoon Delight. My wife used to love that song as a kid. Now as an adult when she hears it she says, "Oh my gosh. I had no idea it was about THAT!"
Magnificent the sequence of beautiful pictures, with colors and landscapes expactaculares. Congratulations.
Beautiful photos! Beautiful blue sky!
I will take that first photo, thank you! I can just imagine the smell of the hay...I just love that smell! But all are beautiful with that intense blue sky!
nice catch for SWF! the twinkling sky seemed to throbs off to one body, timed for a common pulse. Mine's up too hope you can drop by.
Very nice stroll down the lane with you Carletta. Enjoy your meanderings...
Absolutely awesome!! Love the series and your words!! Special!
(BTW, did I ever tell you that I can flip a thousand pound round bale with one hand?)
Nice pictures and a lovely blog.
Nice series.
Love no. 1 & 2! :)
Such a clear blue sky. No worry about a wandering shower wetting the grass before it's baled.
A great Skywatch series.

What gorgeous blue skies, Carletta.
Just stumbled onto your blog from The Fishing Guy's-your pictures are awesome! I loved the blue theme.
Beautiful passage to go with your pretty pictures.
I'm Kellan - nice to meet you. See you soon.
Beautiful shots. Nice Moon.
What a beautiful day and sky!
Gorgeous photos! I love hay bales! I lived in the Midwest for a very short time and I loved it!
Beautiful pictures. I love the many different skywatch pictures - but I do think my favorite one are the ones like these - clear vivid crystal clear blue skies. I just love the beauty of God's creation. Amazing!
Love the moon shot! Great pictures!
Hi Carletta, you did make me smile with that gorgeous yellow flower, and that beautiful sky of yours! It's still raining here, I hope to get some sunshine and blue skies in France as of tomorrow! Great pictures, as always!
Lovely blue skay all over,beautiful!
I'm voting for 1 and 4. I'm partial to round hay bales, and I love blue sky ... living in Seattle I see far too much gray :)
Love your photoes today:)
Cinnamon rolls! That's what the straw looks like ;) Wonderful photographs, thanks for the trip!
All so good, but yes the last one with the moon is the corker.
I love rural areas and your drive was beautiful with the sky watching overhead. Very nice.
Thank you for having visited mine at Thank you for having visited mine at: varying seasons
As one who is fascinated with hay rolls (will observe this one day) I love the first picture, however, with your photos...they are all perfect! All are good Carletta :)
OH I do LOVE to see the moon in the daytime! And love those haybales and beautiful blue sky!
Great for SWF!
The skies are clear in West Virginny. Pappy

Ain't country living GREAT!? I was driving down the road the other day and passed a farm where up on hill sat probably about 40 rolls - all in a line. I wanted SO badly to stop and photograph it, but we had an appointment and were running late. I meant to go back later or the next day... but life got crazy. I guess I missed my chance. It woulda been a NEAT shot though! Great choice for today!
A great series of sky photos!
Beautiful! All of them! I like the Cinnamon hay rolls!! TGIF to ya!!
I drove by the newly cut hay rounds yesterday coming up the drive. I love your photos and description. :) Lynn
Oh yes, the last one with the moon - beautiful! Lovely blue sky.
I like them all, difficult choice if you have to choose but I don't have to.
Lovely. I especially love that old dead tree and the last photo with the moon. So much beauty in the world, isn't there?
Carletta, great photogs! Love them! Happy Skywatch! :D
I was the first one here yesterday and I left a long chatty post about blues and greens and ... wahhh!
I love the photos, Carletta. Despite living in Hawaii, I sometimes get homesick and you have just awakened a few memories that taste sweet, but leave me just a little sad.
I love the second one - The tree is great.
This is truly a blue sky. Lovely.
I really like that top picture. All are nice but I think it's special.
for some reason i thought i'd left a comment here yesterday... perhaps i did something wrong or blogger had other ideas... never mind, i can repeat myself as we had another bleak grey day here, and bloody cold as well... like the sunny flower, this sky cheers me up and fills me with envy :)
beautiful shots!
Wonderful photographs. Your area looks much like ours!
The round bales are showing up here too, as the farmers get into hay making.
I have noticed that you are retired from teaching. I hope you are enjoying retirement as much as I am. It's unbelievable, but almost one full year in already.
What a beautiful clear day! Great photos.
What bright blue skies you show!
The moon is so transparent in the brightness of the sky. Great Skywatch Friday picture. Thank you for sharing it with us. Mustang Mike
Very nice post. I especially like your words. Thanks for commenting on mine. I loved the white iris with the raindrops but I am afraid I did not see the fairy.
Very nice shots:)
