I lived for 30 years in the Norfolk area and this tower is just as I get on the Interstate to leave my daughter's. The mermaids are a Norfolk symbol with many sculptures placed around the city.

Norfolk was one of the places OC was considering work before Hawaii yoohooed. I preferred Hawaii because of that snow thing.

Fun shot! Makes me think of the water tower on the edge of Ogallala, NE that's been painted to look like a space ship with little green men inside! Great childhood memories - seeing the space ship meant we were almost to Grandma's! :D

Thanks for dropping by.

Wow - mermaids on a tank... That's a huge water tank! Isn't it? A friend of mine used to live in Norfolk years ago but she's now moved to California after she got married.

Fun shot... I just passed by a couple of water towers and was wishing I had my camera with me. But ours doesn't have mermaids!

Norfolk is not THAT far away from Southern MD... we are ALMOST neighbors! Blogilogically speaking.

And I suspect that Quilly prefers a LOT of things about Hawaii OVER Norfolk... have you SEEN today's picture yet???

I've seen that a few times ;) Rich was based out of Fort Story when I met him, so we were always in that area.

Have a wonderful day!

Carletta,
Thanks so much for your continued wonderful comments on my posts. I look forward to what you have to say each time I see you posted a reply. I can tell we are both really enjoying this ABC project. I've never been to Virginia. The east coast is on my list. I'd really love to do a bicycling tour of the east. Perhaps New England in the fall? Your picture has my mind wandering now!
