Friends In High Places
Right before I took these I was trying to decide the best way to take a photo of branches of the willow tree bush that had died in my front yard. I thought looking up through them towards the sky would make a great shot from the ground up. But then, I was visited by this little guy who flew by my head and proceeded to chirp away at me at the top of the bush. We shall call him Willow.
I quickly threw out my original idea and concentrated on my new winged buddy. As you can see Willow was quite content to pose for me up there in the branches. Actually, this made for a much better image than just branches anyway. Wasn't it nice of Willow to accommodate me!!

Posing is one thing but how did you get him to sign a model release? Ha ha. Nice capture Carletta. :)
Thanks for stopping in at my ww. Looks like you've had a little "wilderness wonder" of your own. Love the photos of the railroad bridge AND of Willow. Fun series!
this guy looks like he is playing hide and seek with you!
Willow obviously fell in love at first sight!
Great shots!!
Only Carletta can manage to have a bird want to pose for her! Willow felt the love!
Great shots and yes, better than just branches, but that's exactly some of the ones I took yesterday LOL!
Little birdy in the tree.... You'll have to finish the poem. Just stopping by to browse through your photo album. Always interesting. Have a great weekend. Pappy
he really did pose for you!
great stuff!
I think we SHALL call him Willow! Makes it much easier for matching a song to him than if we called him say Chirpy or something silly like that! And I have to admit - he is a MOST accommodating little fella! A gift, I believe! I miss you!!! Come home!
I love surprises like that. Delightful photos Carletta!
Now that is a great looking up picture. One of the best I've seen.
Its been years since I have seen a brown thrasher--at least I think that is what this bird is--I was beginning to think they were a figment of my imagination!
I find birds so hard to photograph...you did a wonderful job, love your pictures!!
A perfect visitor for the day.
Willow is a lovely Brown Thrasher. He makes a great tree decoration. I love his brown against that blue blue sky.
Carletta: Very nice of the bird to accomadate you, very nice for a tough shot with the branches.
Awesome! Is that a Grackle? I don't know my birds very well. :)
