His eyes - how they twinkled!

I was looking through my pictures and trying to decide what I would blog about today. I saw the picture of the ice Santa from China on MSN a couple of days ago and thought it was awesome. I'm amazed at those who can take grains of sand as in the pic I posted yesterday or blocks of ice and see "outside the box" and make it come to life. They are amazing artists in every sense of the word. And yet, by the time their work is complete it is already slowly disappearing save for the photographer who has the instinct to capture it on film for the rest of us to marvel at and wish we'd been there.

The gray ice like picture is me. It was created using Paint Shop. I decided a couple of months ago I wanted to try something different from my usual jewelry, card making and scrap booking ventures and thought maybe I could do some altering of my digital photos. You can see I need LOTS of practice and knowing that I haven't tried anymore. Lets face it, a class wouldn't hurt. Hey, it could end up in the Museum of Bad Art I blogged about this week ~ wouldn't that be a hoot!!!

Carletta: Your eyes are also twinkling in your drawing. Are you and Santa related?

Carletta,
Thank you for stopping by my blog. This is a wonderful post. That ice santa is amazing. As a mosaic artist, I really appreciate other forms of art. I think you are on to something with your self portrait in paint shop. It is really cool!
