Big Birds, Little Birds

Some of you as regular readers know that wild turkeys cross my property at all times of the year. In the past few weeks a large rafter of them have paid many visits. There are about twenty-five in the group and on one occasion two gobblers accompanied them. I took this photo out of my dining room window yesterday morning as they wandered through my back yard. Here you see the long shadows of the trees in the woods behind them.
The sun was quite bright as it shone through the wattle of this turkey.
A pair of woodpeckers visit the suet feeders on a daily basis.
The little nuthatches are always grabbing a bite and flying off and almost always I catch them with their heads pointing down. I like that this one decided to stop for a quick pose with his mouth full.
