Skywatch Friday - A Painted Sky

After three evenings of thunderstorms filled with fierce lightning and heavy rain we were rewarded Monday afternoon with a beautifully painted sky. And didn't this rainbow just position itself in the right spot for me - I think so!! Enjoy!

Sky Watch Friday and Project Yellow : Somewhere Over the Rainbow

I Jumped Across a Rainbow

I jumped across a rainbow
And left my ego here
Exposed to its reality
As nothingness and fear. I needed all my courage
To take that giant leap
For hypnotized in human dreams
My mind was fast asleep. But when that rainbow beckoned
I walked right through the night
I jumped across the rainbow
And fell into the LIGHT!

Irish Blessings

While doing my family ancestry a few years ago I discovered my mother's family had fled to Ireland from Scotland to avoid religious persecution. Once there they lived near the bogs.
Fearing further persecution they changed the family surname to Boggs.
I had always loved St. Patrick's Day and with my red hair everyone always assumed I was Irish; so I proudly accepted the identity.

A special note to my crafting/decorating friends ~ I got this little "stained glass" piece of work from my local craft store for $2.50. I think it looks great hanging in my bay window.

I just love this little leprechaun sitting and reading his gardening book. I gave him a few coins in a shamrock basket. If I could only get him to change them to gold!

I've posted this rainbow picture previously; however, today seems right for a revisit.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

"May you always walk in sunshine.

May you never want for more.

May Irish angels rest their wings right beside your door."

Seeing Rainbows

Yesterday was filled with morning storms and rain drizzled off and on all day. About a half hour before sunset I noticed from my sunroom window that the skies seemed full of color. I grabbed my camera and headed outside. One minute it was fluffy white clouds; then light blue “holes” appeared in the middle of a sheet of gray. At one point dark black ominous clouds appeared at the bottom of pretty whites and blues. The different stripes of clouds reminded me of crushed Oreos in a parfait glass with ice cream and whipped topping. As I stood outside it began to sprinkle heavily while the sun streamed through the clouds. I said to myself that there should be a rainbow somewhere. Then, there it was. I couldn’t get a clear shot around the trees so I had to shoot through them. My daughter and I then jumped on the golf cart and she drove down the long driveway where we could see open sky. It was already too late. In that short span of time the rainbow was now barely visible; it almost seemed as if it had been an illusion. I knew I would have to be satisfied with what was already on my camera. It didn’t really matter though. My favorite Robert Browning quote seemed to whisper in my ear - “God’s In His Heaven, All’s Right With the World” and on this day with my daughter by my side and my newborn grandbaby safely snuggled inside the house everything was indeed right with the world.
