The cable helped to hold this wooden part of a fence across the creek. 
These are some shots I took in early spring and forgot about. What I like most about this reflection shot is the way the tree limbs seemlessly go from shadows at the creekside to reflections in the water.
Downstream a pair of geese were no doubt setting up housekeeping. Well, after all it was spring! If you enlarge this one or look very closely you can see their reflection in the water as well.
Looking upstream! Doesn't that look serene?
I took this in April in early spring on my way to the nursery to pick out flowers for my garden. This little creek beckons to be explored when we go by and ever since we first found it we always stop to see what it has to offer. On this day a couple of geese swam upstream and just below where I took the picture the water flowed gently over smooth pebbles and rugged rocks.
I was sitting and staring at the creekbank's reflection when I decided to flip the image to better see what was actually reflected. As I sat and looked at this new perspective I imagined I had been walking and was standing in front of an amber colored shield and if I just walked through I would be in another dimension. 
Many readers will remember this Watery Wednesday shot from last November. I was in the same area last week after days of rain.
This is looking upstream. It is the same view from a different angle than the small image above. The building in the right hand side of the picture is an old Grange building that has been renovated. It was established in 1873. The Grange is a fraternal organization for American farmers that encourages farm families to band together for their common economic and political good. The organization was founded in 1867 after the Civil War.
Looking Downstream
I took this picture just after taking the tractor photo I posted yesterday. Crossing a small bridge to get back out onto the main road I noticed this lovely creek with its rocky bed. Yes, frozen water was falling all around me. If you look at the far back of the photo you can see the snow covered farm fields that were all around.
On a recent trip to buy some apples I came upon this bridge. Of course, I had to check it out.
Walking up close I shot this scene between the bridge supports.
Closer and looking down I captured this tranquil scene complete with the bridge's shadow.
I zoomed in to the flowing water of the stream. In my little part of the world we call it a creek!
