Good Fences

Agriculture fence: used to keep animals in or out of an area.
Gate: a point of entry to a space enclosed by walls or some sort of fence to  prevent or control entry or exit.

Just out of camera angle to the left the fence ends.  The fence on the right side only goes a few feet. As near as I can tell it's there to keep the land from sprawling out.... :)

  1. Nice picture for good fences. Thanks for visiting. The old school house you asked about is actually a Wendy type house but much bigger. It is right next to a church and I am assuming it is used as a place for entertaining the small children of parents who are in the service. Also for bible stories. I looked inside the windows and there are toys and books in there. It is carpeted and looks very comfortable and lastly we pass it when we take this particular route to the Shenandoah's.

  9. It looks like they want to keep vehicles out of the property. However , it is a nice gate.

  10. It looks fairly new so maybe it's not finished. And Red might be right about keeping vehicles out, too. Nice gate!

  11. Just saw a similar one yesterday, but it was clearly over a drive with ditches on either side. This one doesn't look so clearly to be a vehicle gate. Nice though!

  12. Oh, and I meant to tell you that the fence in my post is for just the plot. Isn't it grand!

  17. I've seen these too - always strikes me as someone starting out with big plans, plans that only make it a few hundred feet.
