This is a summertime shot from the Columbus Zoo. This little guy roamed under a bush at our feet and hardly stopped moving. My Granddaughter's enjoyed his running around so close to them but this was the best shot I could accomplish. Seems appropriate to post it this time of year. Sorry for the earworm I'm sure some of you will have that read the title to the post. :)
Linking to Wild Birds with Stewart.
nope. you did not get it to stick in my head. no way! :)
ReplyDeletepretty little brown scallops.
He's a beaut- nice shot. And no, I have been humming Christmas songs all day...jingle bells right now!
ReplyDeleteOh what beautiful markings, and yes now I am singing!
ReplyDeleteHe's very cute and that title can't do much to add to my permanent earworm I have because our son once played that song in a Christmas piano recital (and practiced it faithfully for days and days and days)....40 years later and I still haven't got rid of it ;>)
ReplyDeleteHow lovely, Carletta! Thank you so much for sharing this!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo and perfection caption!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful rusty browns in the feathers.
ReplyDeleteWonderful bird :)
ReplyDeleteGreetings
no pear tree? A great shot of him; I'm sure he was pottering around constantly while you try to get him in your lens
ReplyDeleteLove the detail in the feathers Carletta, I enjoyed the photo very much.
ReplyDeleteHow unusual, not every day you see a Partridge at a zoo.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Gordon.
Very pretty feathers and a great closeup of the Partridge. Carletta, have a happy week!
ReplyDeleteIt is just too cute! Did it let the grands pet it?
ReplyDeleteAt this time of year we probably have many ear worms. Nice photo of a partridge.
ReplyDeleteNice photo!
ReplyDeleteA perfect little guy for the season! I have actually never seen a partridge - it must have been a treat for the little ones. He's a pretty little fellow. xo
ReplyDeleteThey are big to be sitting in a pear tree and yes I'm singing it in my head.
ReplyDeleteHe's so cute! I don't think I've ever seen one.
ReplyDeleteThat turned out nice. Fascinating creature; isn't it? I put a Christmas spin on my most recent post as well.
ReplyDeleteHi Carletta. great shot and I love that song.
ReplyDeleteSupposedly there are wild partridges here in Ontario but I have never seen one. Neat photo, Carletta!
ReplyDeleteYou got a great picture of this partridge. Now if it had only been in a pear tree.
ReplyDeletethat's a great shot, all you need is a pear tree and you'd be right in season.
