Yesterday on my way back from the post office I noticed the golden grasses behind this electric fence. This is the same field I posted about that was filled with yellow flowers in the fall (see here).
It may be hard to believe but just a mere four hours earlier my backyard had looked like this! We had a short snowstorm. At around 9:30 Wednesday morning the ground was covered and the snow fell in big soft fluffy flakes. It was lovely. Forty-five minutes later looking outside I wouldn't have known it had snowed at all if I hadn't witnessed it. Then later in the eveing around 4:00 it came again but not quite as much but disappeared just as quickly. Some days my five acre woods yields some pleasant surprises. Here's hoping you find some lovely surprises in your day.
I only want surprises today if they are as lovely as yours. I am flying today and I hate flying, so no bad surprises, please! Love those golden grasses!
ReplyDeleteYou sound like Winnie the Pooh and the five acre woods. :)
ReplyDeleteI hate when I click "here" and then forget to hit the back button and then have to start all over again....but to see those flowers....ahhhhh, it was well worth the frustration this time. Lady, you have a wonderful knack of getting close up shots that are out of this world. Those didn't even look like the same flowers when tiny and big. Amazing! Thanks for sharing.
That is my kind of good surprise- snow that only lasts a couple of hours!
ReplyDeleteBoth images, of the field/woods are gorgeous. Ahhh, the beauty of nature. No matter what time of year.
ReplyDeleteLovely golden grasses behind the fence.
ReplyDeleteIf only our snow would last 4 hours instead of 4 (or 5) months.
It was doing the whole blizzard/sun/snow/sun/blizzard thing at our house yesterday - crazy! I also know what you mean about helicopters out of no where. We actually have a neighbor who is in charge of the Life Flight division at one of the local hospital so on occasion they fly into the golf course and put the big bird down to either pick her up or bring her home. Nice ride if you can get it (without needing it that is!)
ReplyDeletereally fast snow coverage (and disappearing act, again). :)
ReplyDeleteYou have typical spring weather that changes rapidly. We have not had very much thawing and won't get much melting for a couple of weeks.
ReplyDeleteNice post for SWF!
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful photos for SWF!Thank you for it and have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteYou have captured the helicopter very nicely.
ReplyDeleteCome to your area (or mine) --and stay a few hours... The weather will change!!!! Right????? Ha... My father-in-law always said that if you don't like Tennessee weather, just wait awhile and it will change!"
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures --and I love the one of the helicopter.
Hugs,
Betsy
Beautiful Carletta, I love the last shot of the snowy field. We have quite a bit of air traffic over our backyard, it can be quite annoying sometimes.
ReplyDeleteCarletta...I think the grasses are way more yellow this year than in the past...and so tall. You captured the wind blowing them so well. It is a scene I see so often. Loved seeing the contrast of the same field. That was a neat thing to post. Hope you have a nice weekend. It is almost here...woo-hoo! genie
ReplyDeleteYou have indeed had some surprises and changes in your weather, Carletta!! Beautiful captures for the day!! Hope all is going well! Have a great weekend!!
ReplyDeleteCarletta, I like the that comes and goes quickly. The weather has been crazy lately. Great shots, thanks for sharing. Have a happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove the snow picture!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot of the helicopter and your back yard is beautiful during all the seasons.
ReplyDeleteYour five-acre wood provides many beautiful scenes. It looked great in the snow, even if the snow quickly went away.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures of an amazing day! all that snow and then later you are able to walk to the post office...and the field is bare ...I didn't even know that much snow could melt that fast.
ReplyDeleteWe have medivac helicopter flying overhead all day and night, drives me crazy!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving your snowy day photo!
Love your snowy woods--we only got snow like that this winter.
ReplyDeleteGreat capture of the chopper.
ReplyDeleteHope it gets warmer for you soon.
Wonderful shots! Happy sky watching.
ReplyDeleteMy sky.
Love the snowy backyard! So pretty.
ReplyDeleteIt all looks really beautiful Carletta. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love golden grass! Very cool helicopter! So happy that you were able to get a shot of it today!
ReplyDeleteI love walks around your woods.
ReplyDeletemy favourite is the golden grass. I´m kind of tired of snow now.
ReplyDeleteIts a lovely view of your backyard and 5 acre wood. I sort of expect to see Winnie the Pooh emerge from behind a tree. The yellow grass is stunning too.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot of the chopper, they are hard to capture, I've tried.
ReplyDeleteI love that last shot....we had snow like that one day, too. Can't remember which day though. And gone just as quick.
ReplyDeleteLike the variety of shots around your home! My the change from that snowstorm to NO snow was pretty amazing!
