Traveling down a local rural road last October Hubs and I ran across this charming little structure that was being used as a hay barn. I don't know the original intended purpose of the structure. Perhaps it was a carriage/wagon house or tractor barn in its former life; but at present it seems to be serving its purpose well. There was no other barn in the vicinity. The dirt driveway you see circled around to the house.
Linking to Barn Charm.
great weathered wood. and plenty of open space to move those huge bales in and out. :)
ReplyDeleteso quaint. i love it!! so different. ha. ha!! ( :
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure what it's supposed to be, but I love the way it looks with the hay bales. This is such a pretty, quaint shot!
ReplyDeleteIt certainly has interesting siding and I think... the bales will stay fairly dry. : )
ReplyDeletePerfect for hay and not much else I would say....with all that air that surely whips through all those spaces in the slats!
ReplyDeleteI love it! It looks like an old corn crib to me. It's a novel way to store hay.
ReplyDeleteYes, it is a curious structure. I have no Idea what it might have been used for.
ReplyDeleteHowever, it does make an interesting photo.
I agree with Mari. I think it's an old corn crib. but it makes a great hay barn. I love the dirt driveway and the fence with the flowers too!
ReplyDeleteA wagon house or tractor barn sounds reasonable. It's really neat and makes me think of Alabama!
ReplyDeleteI do wonder what it was originally used for. And would love to know how old it is.
ReplyDeleteI love the weathered and slanted slats! Such a quaint little shelter. My Mr. would love this as a wood shed! xx
ReplyDeleteLove that old wood... Neat structure... Guess it's called a Hay Barn, don't you think????? Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betsy

ReplyDeleteWhat a cool ol hay barn, or whatever they wanna use it for! LoL! Pretty flowers, too.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining, Carletta =)
Love this beautiful photo! I'm glad to see the old barn still being used.
ReplyDeleteLove it! The lane, flowers and hale bales make it extra pretty!
ReplyDeleteGreat find! Looks like a nice fence/gate with flowers and the evergreens on the other side make for nice framing.
ReplyDeleteIt works perfectly! Maybe that's what it was made for -- or to store firewood?
