Skywatch and Friday's Fences

Hubby and I have been checking out the fall foliage along the interstate. Gotta love that evening light glowing on the rock face.
When I opened this on my computer it reminded me of a watercolor painting.
The West Virginia hills alive with color.
Behind the sign and beyond the fence the color was gorgeous! Look closely. Do you spot that funny looking tall object protruding above the treetops on the far left. It's a cell tower pretending to be a tree.
Here's hoping there are glorious days ahead for all of you.

  2. Hi
I am home after many klms!
    Great time at all places.
Your photos of the "FALL" are very spectacular. Certainly this area is not habitated by humans - looks very virgin countryside to me.
The flight back to BNE from Newcastle flew the whole trip over similar uninhabitated country, not one town was seen from the air until about 190 klms south of BNE.
All I could think about was the summer prospect of bushfires - is this area bushfire material???
Are there access roads for the firefighters just in case?
Today here due to the present high temperatures, the whole Pacific coastline is on "fire alert". Rain is again needed to wet the undergrowth.
    Cheers
    Colin (Brisbane. Australia)

  3. Lovely photos Carletta! Love the fall colors and the one with the West Virginia sign took my interest today. Nice to get out for a ride with hubby. I went with mine on a mini road trip to Baltimore yesterday, to meet up with his brother and our niece who were in town for one night. Looking at all the changing colors on the way was a real treat.

BTW-I recently merged my digital accounts and since they required one name I've dropped my blogging moniker "kaye" and am now blogging with my actual name-kelley.

  9. Okay, you made me look for the skies and the fences. Pretty neat the way they're tucked away.
What really gets me is the Governor's name on the highway sign! That's really going some when he charges taxpayers to put his name up.

  16. Carletta...I know you are going to giggle. I have never seen the West Virginia state sign on our way over there, and you know we are always finding a reason to visit your state. Nice sign. Will have to look for it next time. I am always amazed at the rock formations alongside the interstates. The section your photographed is really quite pretty. Hope you have a nice weekend. It is almost here....goodie, goodie. genie

  36. I know I've been here before, but I didn't have time before to look for the cell tower. Good camouflage. I kind of hate to see those towers sticking up everywhere, and yet at the same time I can't live without my phone (and hate when I don't get good reception).
