When I opened this on my computer it reminded me of a watercolor painting.
The West Virginia hills alive with color.
Behind the sign and beyond the fence the color was gorgeous! Look closely. Do you spot that funny looking tall object protruding above the treetops on the far left. It's a cell tower pretending to be a tree. Here's hoping there are glorious days ahead for all of you.

Beautiful colors - and I LOVE the RAYS you captured in that last shot :)
Hi
I am home after many klms!
Great time at all places.
Your photos of the "FALL" are very spectacular. Certainly this area is not habitated by humans - looks very virgin countryside to me.
The flight back to BNE from Newcastle flew the whole trip over similar uninhabitated country, not one town was seen from the air until about 190 klms south of BNE.
All I could think about was the summer prospect of bushfires - is this area bushfire material???
Are there access roads for the firefighters just in case?
Today here due to the present high temperatures, the whole Pacific coastline is on "fire alert". Rain is again needed to wet the undergrowth.
Cheers

Lovely photos Carletta! Love the fall colors and the one with the West Virginia sign took my interest today. Nice to get out for a ride with hubby. I went with mine on a mini road trip to Baltimore yesterday, to meet up with his brother and our niece who were in town for one night. Looking at all the changing colors on the way was a real treat.

Beautiful fall color captures, Carletta!
the fall colors are lovely! nice shots.
BTW-I recently merged my digital accounts and since they required one name I've dropped my blogging moniker "kaye" and am now blogging with my actual name-kelley.
Okay, you made me look for the skies and the fences. Pretty neat the way they're tucked away.
What really gets me is the Governor's name on the highway sign! That's really going some when he charges taxpayers to put his name up.
Such a gorgeous look at fall in your part of the world, Carletta! The colors are fantastic and so dramatic! That "pretend tree" is really cool! What a great idea! Happy SWF! Have a great weekend!
Beautiful colours!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
Lovely Autumn colours!
A beautiful series of shots and I love those rays!
Wow, wat beautiful sights and colors Carletta. That must have been a wonderful ride.
what beautiful sightings while on the interstate.
Carletta, love Autumn colors in WVA. I like what they are doing with the cell towers, I see one near my house and it looks much nicer than the usual all metal kind. Great shots, happy skywatching!
Carletta...I know you are going to giggle. I have never seen the West Virginia state sign on our way over there, and you know we are always finding a reason to visit your state. Nice sign. Will have to look for it next time. I am always amazed at the rock formations alongside the interstates. The section your photographed is really quite pretty. Hope you have a nice weekend. It is almost here....goodie, goodie. genie
You captured autumn so well. Beautiful shots.
Wow, the colors! I love the light in the last picture. Beautiful. We've got those sneaky cell towers in Colorado too. There's also one shaped like a buffalo.
The splendor of Autumn ...you captured it's beautiful! Nice shots!!!
Gorgeous. The last photo and caption perfectly capture the tone of your whole post. Lovely.
We have a few of those 'fake' trees around here as well. I love the color you captured. Your last photo is fantastic.
The colors are very pretty, looks like it will last longer.
You have a good eye, on the "pretend tree".
Our colors are almost gone now, with the recent snow.
That's one of the many things I love about WV, there's so much beauty to see during Fall.
Beautiful Autumn colors!
Have a wonderful day!

Amazing color! And such great sky views, especially that last shot. Beautiful!
Absolutely beautiful colours which are missed here in Brisbane.
Lovely colours and that last shot is stunning!
Wow!! Amazing Autumn colours! That shot really does look like a painting.
Love all your autumn colors and especially the sun shaft coming through the clouds.
The only thing better than fall color is fall color on the rolling hills! Really pretty scenes that you captured.
Wild and wonderful sounds perfect to me! :))
I like that they made it to look like a tree... looks better in all that beauty! LOVE the rays beaming down... gorgeous =)
I can never get enough pctures of the Fall beauty. It is here one day, and seems to be gone so fast. Gorgeous shots Carletta.
beautiful colors!
the light in the last shot is stunning
I know I've been here before, but I didn't have time before to look for the cell tower. Good camouflage. I kind of hate to see those towers sticking up everywhere, and yet at the same time I can't live without my phone (and hate when I don't get good reception).
