The fence separates the playground equipment from a running/walking path and a section of nearby woods.
A vine found enough dirt to take root.
This photo shows the fence near the natural wood setting beside the park.
The reason for visiting the park - my eighteen month old grandson Sammy!
Linking to Friday's Fences.
cute little boy! i like that good, solid fence, too!
ReplyDeleteLove that old fence...pretty cute grandson!!
ReplyDeleteExtreme weathering of the old poles gives a great texture.
ReplyDeleteA fine way to show off your grandson with a contrast to the old fence.
That fence has lots of character - I love repurposed things! And what a sweet little boy!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous old fence, Carletta... Amazing how the fences in the east are so different from the ones in Texas.....
ReplyDeleteThat old vine is Virginia Creeper.. It grows anywhere and everywhere.
That little grandson is such a Cutie Pie.

Good to see that the sensible authorities in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, can envisage a new life for old telegraph poles.
ReplyDeletePresently in my street, the old poles are being replaced. Maybe I should go and get the "bossman" in to read your blog. Seems to be an ungodly lot of work, with wires, boxes etc. having to be taken from the old to the new. So far this work has been going on for over two weeks. Thankfully they inform you that all power for about 8 hours is cut off. My building was the first to be done. It is fascinating to just stand and watch the detail of it all.
Great young grandson, Sammy. With the blonde hair and build, he might be a swimming or surfing star of the future.
I wondered where you had got to!
I guess you had loads of fun.
Cheers
Colin ( Brisbane. Australia)
Weather report: Miserable - raining on and off. Not helping the guys on the power poles at all.
Hi Carletta! Love the second photo; great fence and a sweet grandson to take to the park with you ..
ReplyDeleteSammy is absolutely adorable. I like the fence as well. That's a novel use of old telephone poles.
ReplyDeleteI can tell those poles have been there a while. The moss gives their age away!
