Good to see that the sensible authorities in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, can envisage a new life for old telegraph poles. Presently in my street, the old poles are being replaced. Maybe I should go and get the "bossman" in to read your blog. Seems to be an ungodly lot of work, with wires, boxes etc. having to be taken from the old to the new. So far this work has been going on for over two weeks. Thankfully they inform you that all power for about 8 hours is cut off. My building was the first to be done. It is fascinating to just stand and watch the detail of it all. Great young grandson, Sammy. With the blonde hair and build, he might be a swimming or surfing star of the future. I remember when old telephone poles used to be recycled for fencing--apparently still do although have seen in a long time. Your closeup shots are so clear and in-focus, revealing some wonderful detail.
