Morning Deer In Shadows

One morning last week hubby had a doctor's appointment and as I walked by the sunroom I glanced out the window to see two deer coming across the meadow in the dew covered grass. The backlighting of the morning sunrise put them in lovely shadows. You can tell that they see me standing in the window. They come underneath the big old oak tree in my backyard to find whatever bird seed the birds have knocked from the feeder hanging in the tree. They have in the past sniffed at the finch feeder you see in this shot.
It was a lovely way to start the morning.

  7. They're both gorgeous shots!
The first one has that "early morning" light quality and the second one with the 2 of them staring into your lens is so lovely.
    Great moments captured so well.

  9. Great photos. You are very fortunate to have these attractive deers in your yard, but besides sniffing the feeders, do they "sniff" your garden flowers?? ha ha!
It was great when I lived as a young boy in the country on the property and wake up and see the emus and kangaroos around the homestead and the yards. Now all I see are wretched crows and scavanging Ibis. Ah such is life, in "glorious" suburbia!

  27. Your deer look curious. Today I took my Mom out for a walk and right in front of her condo was a deer eating grass in the green space in the middle. We stayed to watch until it settled down for a snooze in the sun. Such fun for my Mom who doesn't get around much because of her wheelchair. - Margy
