Barn Charm

This is yet another barn from the weekend Hubby and I spent in October in the surrounding countryside near Cass, West Virginia. Enlarge the photo to see the way the barn boards were hung on the diagonal. You can look through the hayloft opening and see the light streaming through the boards on the backside of the barn. A small glimpse of a built-in wooden ladder can be seen through the left side opening as well as some support beams.
Wishing all my readers a very Happy New Year!

  4. Let's see: I'll have to look back in my archives and see if I have this one...! ;)
Very pretty shot with the golden grass/crop in the front and green trees in the background.
Those train ride weekends really supplied us with lots of barn photos, didn't they??

  16. The diagonal boards are certainly eye catching. But, am I the only one who thinks they are done the wrong way? Wouldn't they normally be pointing UP?

  23. Did you guys get any sleep on that trip?????? I think you were up 24 hours a day with the old camera....only kidding, but couldn’t resist it. This is a fine find. Like the angles of the boards and the NO paint. Are you all surviving the cold. We are freezing over here. Going to Douthat the 2nd of Feb for 3 nights to do the yearly celebration of my birthday.....73 this year. Eloise will be here with Gene and mom. Cannot wait. Hope to hit WVA one day....will keep you posted...gotta see that darn barn. genie
