This is yet another barn from the weekend Hubby and I spent in October in the surrounding countryside near Cass, West Virginia. Enlarge the photo to see the way the barn boards were hung on the diagonal. You can look through the hayloft opening and see the light streaming through the boards on the backside of the barn. A small glimpse of a built-in wooden ladder can be seen through the left side opening as well as some support beams.
Wishing all my readers a very Happy New Year!
Linking to Tricia's Barn Charm.
A picturesque old barn. Happy New Year too.
ReplyDeleteLovely old barn and still working I see. I like the pattern of the wood on the front.
ReplyDeleteSomeone did a lot of extra work when decide to have the boards on a angle.
ReplyDeleteLet's see: I'll have to look back in my archives and see if I have this one...! ;)
ReplyDeleteVery pretty shot with the golden grass/crop in the front and green trees in the background.
Those train ride weekends really supplied us with lots of barn photos, didn't they??
I swear....I would LOVE to see all these kinds of scenes you share with your Barn Charm posts. Around the city, you just don't see the beauty of the countryside.

This is a very charming barn. The diagonal boards were the first thing I noticed, even before I read your comments. I like all the detail in the enlarged photo.
ReplyDeleteI noticed the diagonal slant to the boards right away. I think that adds to strength.
ReplyDeleteNeat barn for Barn Charm.. I love seeing all of the different barns. Thanks for sharing.

Great barn find! Happy Barn Charm!
ReplyDeleteThe diagonal boards are certainly eye catching. But, am I the only one who thinks they are done the wrong way? Wouldn't they normally be pointing UP?
ReplyDeleteThe enlargement revealed much more of the features of this fine barn shot. I really like the diagonal board construction. Nice one.
