A soldier beetle enjoys what's left of a daisy bloom.
Not sure what happened to this little fellow. He has a bent wing .

I was taking pictures of the flowers and this Green Tiger Beetle glistened in the sunlight begging for his fifteen minutes of fame. He and his mate hung around for quite some time and did what bugs in love do. No, not showing that one!
Doesn't thinking of that movie make you cringe?

Fantastic details in these macro images!
These are great shots. I love that glistening green bug.
I don't know how you do this. Carletta...I one day to meet you so you can tell me and teach me how to use a camera correctly. Well not only for that but these are magnificent. :)
Excellent...it's like stepping into a biology class today...and trust me, it was a favorite class of mine in school!!!
Winter Past is my link to Macro Monday. Do stop by when you get a chance. I'd love your company. Have a great week.
Great macro bug shots. Not easy.
You captured a lot of detail. Do you have that fly trained to pose for you? :)
Very cool bug shots! Fascinating!
Such interesting shots! Isn't that tiger beetle just gorgeous. Terrific shots!
What a wonderful selection of colourful beetles and bugs...
The shots are great but the insects ugly, yikes ! I don't like them at all !
Wow -- that last shot is amazing for something that tiny.
Wonderful shots.
I played too. Mine are here and here.
Really nice macros Carletta. That green guy is really iridescent.

I love that tiny red bug. So cute!
Even the biggest insect pests are styled somewhat, and with bold colors too. I'm not a fan of the mission of the fly, but the red eyes have a bit of a flair it seems...
The red bug is perfect for RT, although who doesn't admire a ladybug as a much more pleasant ruby. All here are wonderfully captured!
These are excellent!
From yellow to red,
You've captured them all--
What more can be said?
COLOR DILEMMA
Yellow or red—which shall it be?
Red for you and yellow for me?
Perhaps you’d rather have yellow instead—
Which leaves me, of course, with handfuls of red!
Whichever hue you decide to choose,
I’ll take the other—no one will lose!

BTW if you want to see where Johnny Depp walked and maybe slept (I don't know the movie) just look at the Bounty from in and outside

Wonderful macros of these tiny creatures. You're right, after seeing the movie I will never be able to look at a fly the same way again.
I'm back for Tuesday...love the lady bug.
WINGS!! [a short, slideshow video of hummingbirds feeding and playing]
Have a great Tuesday. Hope you can find time to stop by and shout out a 'howdy do'.
these are all wonderful!!
I love bugs, people don't realize how pretty they can be
your photos show that so beautifully
Love the red bug!!1 All of the shots are GREAT!
Such a teeny weeny little thing but pretty!
My RT link, please come and see.
That's such a cool color on that Green Tiger Beetle. I found Soldier Beetles doing what you chose not to show, and I posted it. Not today... that was a last year. I didn't think anything of it, but I'm not as classy as you are.
