  5. My son is sitting with me and he started shouting, "Mommy, look at that bug!!!" He loves it...as do I! You'll have to check out my latest post about the two really great bugs he found over the past couple of days!

  6. Great shadows! The last shadow almost looks like a cartoon, very cool.

    Do check out the book, B is for Bufflehead. The photos are beautiful, it would be a great ABC book for a child.

  8. The insect offers a shape of intricate detail, and wonderfully replicated in shadow. We have an aversion to bug it seems, almost finding no use at all for all of them.

    But when a beautiful capture like this appears, I think I may have to reassess the 'eww' factor about bugs and enjoy their unique beauty as you have captured...

    I ONCE HAD A SHADOW

    I once had a shadow—or did she have me?
    My shadow and I could never agree.
    I would say something, she’d say the reverse;
    Our arguments flared, my lips I would purse,
    Refusing to speak to her anymore—
    So my shadow got up and marched out the door!
    I have not seen her from that day to this—
    That’s one stubborn shadow I surely don’t miss!
