Weekend Reflections

I hadn't been out searching for reflection shots this week and was afraid I wouldn't have anything to post. Late yesterday afternoon I was on my front porch washing windows and rocking chairs. Sounds mundane I know. I have four windows and four rockers so I sat in each clean rocker washing the next window and rocker so it wasn't tiring and I was able to enjoy the lovely breezy day we had. When I had finished the task I hosed down the porch getting rid of the dirty soap and water. Just before dinner time I stepped out on the porch to put everything back in place and noticed the evening sun shining on my once again clean white chairs. Then I saw the puddle that remained at one end of the porch with this lovely reflection of the evening sky and porch railings. Goes to show you that you never know when a photo opportunity will present itself to you. You just need to be ready.

  2. You can wash my windows also if you wish. :)

That is a neat reflection. I probably wouldn't have noticed that since I'm not very observant.

  16. Carletta, this is beautiful.
I think you need first to have your eyes open (as you did, and I wouldn't) and then to have the camera ready.
Just goes to show, it's worth washing the windows sometimes!!

  23. There is a special kind of romance in this photo that says so much more than merely the reflection of a porch rail. It is more like a reflection of happier times -- and definitely poetry in a picture.
