Valentine's Day is always associated with the color red so I thought these little red squirrels would be a perfect critter for the day. This little guy was near the top of a walnut tree.
A few branches down this little fellow had his bounty and was trying to hide.
It didn't like me snapping away at him and decided to take his treasure someplace else.
He did find a little more cover but I found him anyway and snapped one more shot before I left him to his treat.
Since it is Valentine's Day I wanted to share a valentine with all of you. It's only appropriate that it be a 'critter' valentine so I'm sharing one from my collection that has a beautifully colored graphic of a butterfly. The handwritten date on the back is 1928.
Today is my birthday. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! Yep, I have to celebrate my birthday with EVERYBODY else! :)
Be sure to tell somebody today you love them. Remember love isn't just about Sweethearts. Tell your Mom, your Dad, your best friend, your pet. Everyone needs a little love not just today but everyday.
To all my dear readers, I love you all! It wouldn't be the same without you.

I once lived in a place with a black walnut tree near the front door. You would not believe the amount of walnut shell litter I had to wade through to get from the front door to the car! Your squirrels are adorable though.
