"Dona Nobis Pacem"
Latin for "Grant Us Peace"

Let There Be Peace On Earth

Let there be peace on earth,
and let it begin with me.
Let there be peace on Earth,
the peace that was meant to be.
With God as our Father,
brothers all are we,
Let me walk with my brother,
in perfect harmony.
Let peace begin with me,
let this be the moment now.
With every step I take,
let this be my solemn vow,
To take each moment and live each moment
in peace, eternally.
Let there be Peace on Earth,
and let it begin with me.

I love that song. Peace be with you. As I said yesterday, your blog carries a spirit of peace with it. I always enjoy my visits and the views out your window or the flowers or the sights of West Virginia and Ohio country side... or...

Yes, peace within the world MUST begin with the self....you and I are thinking alike on this.

Come on over, and read my impressions of peace if you can find time today.

I never paid much attention to this song until I saw the song in our church hymnal. It is a strong song, and written in 1955, only ten years after WWII. A war, although right, was still a reminder of that terrible war. I notice that those of my parent's generation always stop to visit the US military cemeteries in Europe to reflect the high cost of that war. Or any war. Peace in our hearts we have, pray for those who don't have that in theirs. A lovely globe!
