While blog surfing Sunday night I noticed one of my favorite bloggers was participating in a challenge begun by Anna of Anna Carson Photography. Anna's blog is a photo-a-day blog. Having recently completed a Project Red she is now beginning a Project Yellow where she will try to find all things yellow to photograph and share. She has encouraged any of us who might want to take the challenge to join her everyday this week or just one day; whatever works for you.I thought this would be fun to do so I'm going to try to participate this week. My photography skills in no way compare to Anna's but I think it will be a fun challenge to see what yellow subject matter I can find. If you want to participate let Anna know in the comments, invite others, and link back to Anna.
My first yellow take is from the forsythia bush in my front yard. Everywhere I went today they were in full bloom. It was such an amazing contrast to the bare branches of last week. I actually took two closeup photos I really liked so I'll post the other one later in the week.
Now, I'm off to find more YELLOW to brighten my day!!

ReplyDeleteYou have a beautiful bush and it appears to be existing in the style recommended by Southern Living - letting it grow freely and not pruning it back severely each season. It's all abloom in my neighborhood, so I just can't understand why a neighbor down the street just paid someone to come in and whack off most of their beautiful forsythia hedge. It was on the edge of a vacant part of their lot near the road, not bothering anyone, in full bloom and now it's gone. Some people are such idiots!

ReplyDeleteCarletta: That's no fair. How can the Forsythia be blooming in WV and we still only have Crocus. I guess I'll have to wait another week. Great photos, I also love Anna photos and wonder at her talent.

ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful bush! I think I told you (but I'm not sure) that my neighbor had one and got rid of it. Stupid neighbor! It was beautiful too and right outside of my kitchen window.

ReplyDeleteI wondered if I'd see any of these; they're in full bloom here, too. For that reason, I wasn't going to photograph any forsythias, but...today one snagged me. A LOT of things have snagged me with this little photo challenge.

ReplyDeleteForsythia! Yes, Kara's husband is right. If you use crabgrass pre-emergent on your lawn, the blooming forsythia indicates the right time to do it. I do not know if anyone near my home has that plant. At one time, I considered buying one, but it looks too big for me.
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful bushes. We have a few that grow at the corner where our road meets the main road, and I was considering going out that way to take a few shots.
