Wild Birds: Heidi and the Titmouse

The little titmouse from last week that hung around our bay window and was definitely in love with its reflection has continued to stay around in the weigela bush underneath the window but only every now and then with just a quick look and then it's gone.

Sometimes he sits atop the hook that is used to hang the suet feeder. As you can see he still serenades us.

Poor Heidi is constantly distracted with the goings on in the window. This window holds her bed where she likes to lay in the sunshine. She has always been an inside kitty and this is as close to a bird as she's ever been. After a few days she would simply look up and check out the noise and then duck her head beneath her paws and go back to sleep.

  3. Carletta your photography is so good. Capturing a flittering bird is so hard well done. The cats whiskers as well.

  6. The actions of some critters is really strange. I would think he thinks he sees another bird. At any rate they supply you with some entertainment.

  13. Yje titmouse is very cute. I had to smile when I first saw the photo of Heidi. She looks quite frustrated but I'm glad she's on the other side of the windows from the birds.

  19. That first photo is just so on the money, Carletta. Perfect background for the colors in this bird. In the second one is such a good view of the head especially so we can see the markings easily. And Heidi has that psycho look going, doesn't she? Chuckling over this one.

  21. I wonder if your titmouse has found a mate so doesn't need to keep looking at himself so much? Nice pose and shot you took.

  26. Lovely shots! My Katie loves to sit at the door and watch...every now and then I hear a low kittie growl, as if she thinks she could really get those birds if I let her out. (She's not an outside cat)
