Rurality Blog Hop - Beyond the Fence: A Garden Grows

If you live in the country chances are you have at least a small garden to grow a few fresh vegetables at the least. Hubby and I have planted tomatoes, cucumbers, and bell peppers. I'll show you those on a later post. Last week I was visiting my Mom and had a chance to take some photos of my Stepdad's garden. His is much larger than mine. I enjoyed taking different shots of the posts and fence that surround the garden. It is necessary otherwise the deer would eat everything. As it is the chipmunks were digging up the onions last week. Just dug them up and left them. Critters - what can you say!
Click the first photo and enjoy the slideshow with a surprise find at the end.

  16. I knew a grardening/photographer who always reminded us to look over our shoulders for the best shot--or the one we may miss. Now add looking down as well. It's amazing how older folk have the energy to raise these huge. productive gardens. My aunt who's 80+ still does. Your should plan regular visits to the parents' this summer!

  17. lovely surprise. My uncle had a 10 foot electric fence around his hay fields and the deer still got in. One day he went out before daybreak to watch and see how they were getting over the fence. They crawled under it!

  29. Stylish fences not only add beauty to the garden but they also give protection. Garden fences are best when they are stylish and durable both. A good fence really changes your garden.
