As you can imagine the birds flocked to the feeders during the storm and I sat at my dining room window and clicked away.
Look closely on the back of this little Junco and see the little tiny snowflake that landed on his feathers. When I see these little guys I can't help thinking of Anne Murray's Snowbird song.
"Spread your tiny wings and fly away
And take the snow back with you
Where it came from on that day
The one I love forever is untrue
And if I could you know that I would
Fly away with you."
Now that I've planted that little earworm in your mind do click to enlarge the pics and click through the slideshow. I had so many feathered visitors I'll share these today and save the rest for next week. Enjoy and thanks for stopping by!
TITMOUSE
WREN
STARLING
(pesky yes, but lovely nevertheless)
Luckily I only saw two!

Such pretty birds! I know so little about them, you're inspiring me to go get a book and a feeder.
GREAT snowbirds!!!
Okay, this is YOUR fault you have to hear this....
We saw Anne Murray in concert back in the 80's...me and my daughter, who was around 13 at the time. My daughter LOVED her. Can you imagine? She loved her and Karen Carpenter and Madonna...quite a variety...anyway, after the concert, my daughter and I stayed, waiting outside, hoping to get an autograph. We stayed until we were the ONLY ones left. Just her and me...it was so dangerous and careless of me, but it was so important to my daughter. Well, guess what. Anne Murray was slowly driven by in her limousine, and my daughter was crying and calling out her name, and I guess Anne heard my daughter because, as the limousine passed, Anne turned around and WAVED at my daughter!!! I will never forget it, and neither will she. Isn't that funny that just that small gesture meant so much to both of us? I told you, it was your fault for singing Snowbird!
I love your pictures!!! Especially the first one with the tiny little snowflake visible...I noticed it before you even pointed it out! And just fyi....single digits is not cold...35 is cold...single digits is freaking freezing!!! Enjoy your 60 degree day and then bundle up when the next one comes and stay well!!!
Your little snowbirds as so cute!
I loved Anne Murray and now I will be singing Snowbird all day. :)
absolutely beautiful shots! loved every one of them! thank you, carletta!
The photo of the junco with the snowflake is a winner.
Pretty wild and wacky weather.
Wahooooo, simply beautiful ;-)

Great bird shots! There's something magical about them when the snow is falling too.
You got great photos of the snowy day visitors to your feeder. We're 'enjoying' the same roller-coaster weather you're having.
Super series of 'Snowbirds'. I love the Titmouse with that perky hairdo!
Very, very nice and such a perfect sharpness in every photo! Yes, I saw the little snowflakes on the feathers. It is beautiful with snowflakes! The weather is chaning here in Sweden too, now the snow is melting away.
Greetings Pia
The birds are beautiful and I like that song, so I forgive you. Of course, in our vocabulary, snowbirds are flying (or RVing, more likely)
The titmouse is my favorite picture, both because he's so cute and because I only know this bird from pictures.
Lovely clear photos Sallie. And you know at one time Anne Murray used to be featured on the radio over here a lot but nowadays - nothing, unless i have missed it. Whatever happened to Anne Murray - I'll go and Google it.
Fantastic series of little birds Carletta, and I do love that Anne Murray song. It's dancing around in my head.
Great photos of all the birds in the snow and it would be lovely to be able to sit inside and photograph them all through the window.
Oh I think I always fall for the Titmouse - so cute!!! Lovely snowy photos.
I'm a bird watcher and I'm loving these beautiful shots! And I always loved listening to Anne Murray.
Oh how I love these...wonderful shots, Carletta. That wren shot is fabulous...they must travel from my house to yours...I have not seen mine in days.
Gorgeous!
Wow - what a great set of pictures! We have a bird feeder off of our back deck. But it sure looks like you get a much wider variety of birds than do we!

That little titmouse is adorable!
Love all your pics, Carletta. We only got a few flurries here, which melted in the same day :(
Beautiful photos of these cuties, Carletta. Our snow has melted from todays warm temps. Have a great evening!
Excellent! These are lovely captures. The junco and titmouse are such sweet little birds. I can never manage to get a picture of either as they don't stay still long.
Congrats on getting some snow... We only got ICE here. Great pictures of your birdies. I don't like Starlings either --but I love the adorable little Carolina Wrens...
Hugs,
Betsy
Oh!! Loved seeing all your birds, Carletta! The snow is beautiful but the little birds look cold!
I often wonder how birds that small manage to get through the nights that are so cold. Down jackets I suppose!
Cheers and thanks for posting to WBW.

Such sweet little snow birds and we have the same kind that come, yet very seldom, to we get the Starlings so close to the house. Very pretty images!
Really sharp captures!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
Great photos! Yep, even the ones of the starlings.
These shots are so awesome, Carletta, they could be in my Sibley book. Wow! Did you do one FINE job! I am impressed. During the snows I was wondering about you all and how much you got. We got bits and pieces but did not last long. The killer was the ice Monday morning. Had to call off school...goodie goodie. Glad to be back among the bloggers...surely this laptop will not self destruct again. 3 times surely is the magic number. genie
Poor lil ol things, out in that cold snow.
Great photos of all these birds at your feeder, Carletta. I think starlings are pretty too.
i love that song and these are sweet pictures
That snowflake is a nice catch! I have seen a few snowbirds on my deck, but have not been able to get a good picture of them.
I have heard that starlings can be pests, but we don't see them too much in this area. I like how their iridescent colors shine in strong sunlight.
Gorgeous images! The snow makes the perfect "habitat" statement for these birds in winter.
Wonderful shots, Carletta! I really love the titmouse!
The junco is gorgeous!
I still say you have them trained. :) My favorite is the wren. That junco makes me cold just looking at him. I just bought a bird app (Peterson) for our iPad. It's kind of neat and it was only $4.99.
Excellent shots of birds. I enjoy feeding the birds and watching them.
