Wal-mart is a two lane road. Last week we turned off that road onto one we hadn't yet explored in the five years we've been here not really expecting to find anything. Well, the Dairy Barn was a wonderful surprise.
(click and enlarge photos for a better view)
The barn is no longer associated with a working dairy but still stands in good shape surrounded by well kept fields. (Sorry about that little piece of tall grass in the center that got in the way of my lens.)
A better shot of the companion barn to the side.
The other side of the barn with the clear blue sky we had last week.

i LOVE the 4-poster silos! so cool! have never seen that done before. the silos are always grouped together.
Neat barn photos, Carletta... We are praying for West VA and that horrible storm... I know that snow is predicted in many areas. We may get a little snow here too....
Hugs,
Betsy
In it's hay day this must have been a going concern. Interesting shot of the companion buildings which go along with he barn.
I love going down country roads and seeing what I find too. You found a great one!
What a treasure to never have seen before! It is a beautiful old barn.
What an interesting barn with all it's silos!
Lots of work done in that big barn over the years. And the sky is a beautiful blue for your photo!
I like that last shot. It must have been quite a farm in it's day. I like the lettering on the front. It's fun to explore back roads. You never know what you'll find. Pamela
Unique find! I, too, have never seen a barn/silo setup quite like that.
Wow, I don't think I've ever seen so many silos on a barn! Great shots!
Be safe out there in the storm!
A beautiful barn -- and how fun to find unexpected fascinating things...we love to explore different back roads too.
Two-lane country roads often lead to the nicest finds. This is a great barn.
Great pictures! It is sad though in a sense that so many old farms like this are going the way of the dodo bird. But wonderful to live in a place where you can see that!

These are definitely beauties! Love the white & the silos... look at all the windows
Great find, Carletta... I LOVE driving down old country roads just to see what's there & what I can shoot! =)
What a great barn!!! I particularly love the last shot!
sometimes it is best to not be expecting much when we go exploring; we are better able to see the surprises!
It's an incredible barn! Love the silos and the companion barn---a terrific find! I love when I turn down an unfamiliar road and discover a gem of a barn on down!:>)
It really is a wonderful barn! Love it, and what it represents...all that good healthy milk steaming in the fall air!
Now, I just LOVE this one! It is wonderful! I think it is so thrilling to come upon an awesome old barn. Love that it is surrounded by silo's!
A fine barn complex to find and get to shoot. It's a great looking barn and amazing number of silos.
Judging from those silos--some very hungry cows hung out here. A very nice setting. Especially like the way you captured the field grasses and weeds (with that little punch of color) near the barn.
I do love this place, the dual silos, well that's the icing on the cake!
