Fantastic close up. Hardly ever see any butterflies around my neck of the wood! I wonder why??? Have a guess, Carletta! However in Finschhafen in PNG, butterflies are in abundance and some of the prettiest imaginable. Many of the Australians working up there pre-Independence were avid collectors, just like stamps. Never appealed to me though. Identification books on butterfly types were the "norm" for many households. Cheers Colin (Brisbane.Australia) Weather report: God, we are being blinded - the sun has decided to re-appear after about 5 miserable days of constant rain!

Something that allows the naked eye to see much more is fantastic. The bits of dirt below the butterfly is something wee would neve see.
Beautiful closeup!
Awesome captures!
You are great with a camera!
Gorgeous macro.
Lovely! We had an explosion of these butterflies this spring--the warm winter and early spring were the perfect conditions for them.
What a nice picture. No butterflies for me for a few months!

Amazing-- the antennae are so crisp and clear. Pretty butterfly. Thanks for checking out my MM!
very nice--I don't know how you get that close without scaring them off.
