Barn Charm

I see this little barn each time I go out shopping. It sits against the hillside atop a little knoll of ground. I wish I had taken a pulled back shot but you have to sit in the middle of a busy road in order to take the picture as there is no place to pull off.  So while hubby watched for traffic I had to hurriedly click a photo.
The charm, for me at least, is in the hand-painted words. I often see an older gentleman wandering around the grounds and wonder if he was the artist. You can tell by the recently mowed grass that he takes pride in what he has. Last year for the Fourth of July he had put many little flags around the base of the barn. I missed getting a photo of that so I hope he does it again this year.

Very rustic indeed. Loved the words - Made in the USA!
Also well tended surroundings.
Now I must be at my diplomatic best,( Clear my throat!), thank God, the barn didn't come from somewhere else, where all things come from these days. Even my new toothbrush that I got yesterday had "Made in the P.R of China"!
So here is a tip for the Secretary of Trade of the USA, export newly built, but of a rustic nature, US barns to balance the trade.
Here, in Australia, we could export "stuffed" Ibises! I will supervise the "stuffing" part - ha ha!

Love the flag, words, and the weathered wood.

Unlike us Belgians, Americans are such patriots, I admire that. We would never get it in our head to paint our flag on a barn! (or anything else for that matter)

Its a cute one.

agree with Jientje, if you painted that in Ireland, someone else would probably come and paint stuff over it!
It's so cute, I would love to see what's inside it- hay? no!
Would also love to see the 4th July flags around the base, so I hope he decorates it again too!

Very nice! It's amazing how we risk life and limb for photos. I am always finding myself in precarious predicaments!!

I love this little barn and his message! I'm sorry you had to sit on the road to get the picture and hope you can get one (safely) if he puts out the flags on the Fourth! Thank you so much for your comments on my last two posts, and especially the well-wishes about my eye. The eye drops helped immensely (I had some left over from the January bout) and I haven't been to the opthamologist yet so I still need to do that. But it is much better! All my best!

Great little barn! I like the message and flag. You don't see much advertising of any kind on barns these days. Way to get the shot, Carletta!
